I came off my levothyroxine due to fluid retention and stomach issues. Just waiting to have a celiac test and a full blood count/thyroid test done on Tuesday but just wondering...i know you can gain with having thyroid issues but what the hell is the best way to lose weight?
I used to be 16 stone and over 10 months lost 5 stone, then lost another 1 and a half because i was basically eating nothing. When i lost all that weight, i was working in a cafe 5 days a week, 8/9 hour shifts(short staffed as well) and i was working out 5 times a week. Breakfast would be nothing, then for lunch i'd have half a seed bar and then for dinner a slice of salmon. Only took a little coke and maybe a little cereal at night.
Right now i work two jobs and both physical, im very active but i never have any energy to work out( i heard getting heartrate up is better for people with thyroid issues) and i used to skip(jump rope) to do that(excellent work out btw) I dont eat breakfast, for lunch its what i can find which is usually baked crisps and most days i skip dinner and supper. I did this for the last 6 months and i literally lost NOTHING. I've been off the last week and in 8 days i gained a stone(seriously?!) from eating "normally"..
I have problems with malabsorbtion and possible scleroderma(affects gut) and eating foods like soya, gluten and dairy cause me to gain serious fluid retention so i cant just pick up a bloody apple and have that or nipple on some carrots(they cause diarrhea) and its small ingredients like palm fruit oil or mono and di-glycerides of fatty acids that make my stomach go crazy.
Eating "normally" as in bread and cereal with milk gave me decent energy, i didnt feel tired like i always do but i couldnt walk because i was so bloated. I look 9 months pregnant when ive eaten things like this..
Should i start working out and have more protein? Its the energy levels that are killing me. Im so weak sometimes. Today ive done nothing, had two cups of coffee, some cashew milk, a tiny bit of banana and salmon and a small amount of rice noodles and i am still really hungry and i just want to sleep.
Its been impacting on my work as well, i start at 7:30 and finish at 1:30 and then start another job from 5pm until 8pm so its a struggle sometimes to get through the day, having to sit down when i can and push myself to get out of bed etc
Any tips would be very much appreciated, just any things you've found have helped you cope with energy issues or any foods you think i could try etc..
