Any help would be greatly appreciated from any members. Ive been on combinations of Levothyroxine for a year now and have continued to gain weight. I am very careful with the amount of exercise I do in respect of house work etc because I crash and become exhausted quickly. I have been invited out tonight and really want to go but am reluctant to as I know that I can get so fatigued early in the evening. I feel like a kill joy..what happened to me, I used to be the opposite.

HELP to lose weight.
Have you got test results to post up, sounds like your not on enough. For me I went gluten dairy and sugar free, I take t4/t3 and its optional for me. I will say that I have not lost lots of weight but has given me the ental attitude and energy to do exercise three times a week and have definitely noticed a difference in dress size but I cannot for love or mo ney get past 64 kilos. I am not heavy but still overweight for my height but I'm much happier. X. Hope it helps a bit. The key is to be on enough meds for you. X
Thanks for your help. Not got any new results to post as endo just changed my meds to T3 T4 combo. Felt the difference immediately. Im on 75 mg T4 and 20 mg T3.My weight has gone in 3 months from 72 to 77kg.All my life I was Nine stone\ 55 kg.The new meds have given me back my energy but so weak I will have to take it really slow.Did go out first time in two years had a dance and am paying for it now. What level of T3and T4 are you on ?
Hey, I really struggled with weight gain/found it hard to lose. Been on thyroxine since I was 13 (im 23 now) for under active and I've constantly had to have my doses increased over the years.. Best thing I've found is slimming world, having protein shakes and going for walks (if you have time) I usually get a slump about 3/4 in the afternoon when i want to sleep and find having a pintof cold water then a mug of hot water with lemon in it helps!
Thanks for your great advice. Feel humbled that you at 23 are so wise and I feel grateful that I haven't suffered for as long as you.Im53 so only began this hypo journey at about 42 but only got medicated a year ago. Never felt well on T4 alone.I too have taken protein shakes and try to walk each day even if only a ten minute walk. Have u found additional vitamins any help...I take b complex and brazils for selenium. Will try the hot cold water...what does this do? Will it speed up my sluggish system?
A high fat low carb diet has produced results for me. And that was before I was diagnosed. I've tried every diet under the sun and that is one of the only ones that has worked. Was 16 st and I am now 13 st with no hunger issues. Just got diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in October and I am currently up to 150mcg of Levothyroxine with no relief of symptoms. I have been referred to a specialist which will take 90 days so I ordered some T3 medication from the internet and I am about to try it to see if it works.
I gained exactly 42 lbs while I was on T3 and lost it all on Levothyroxine and then Thyroid S. Horses for courses.
Rowan are you on t3 alone or combination with t4.im still not losing weight it's so frustrating when im being so strict with my food.If its the t4causing the gain access do you think I should be only on t3 and see if I lose any weight ?
Hi Foodie can't believe that I didn't reply only now found your post.Do you think I should stick to the 40mg t3 abd stop the 75mg t4 . desperate to lose this weight cant fit into any clothes and struggling now
