I am a new member, 57 female. I'm on 50mg Levothyroxine and have been for about 18 months. Also take antidepressants long term and omeprazole for severe acid reflex. I do a fair amount of exercise but would do more if I was less tired/had more energy. I lose weight a little on low carb but find it hard to stick too. Main problem with weight loss is I feel very hungry most of the time - even wake up in the night hungry. Any suggestions or things other people have found helpful much appreciated.

I very much doubt you'll mange to lose hypo-weight on 50 mcg levo. How long have you been on that dose? Do you have copies of your blood test results, to share with us? It's low T3 that causes symptoms like weight-gain and difficulty losing it. But, if you over-exercise and eat low-calorie or low carb, you will affect your conversion of T4 (levo) to T3. So, you will stay hypo - or even become more hypo, and put on more weight.
Also, the weight-gain is unlikely to be fat, so calorie restriction is unlikely to make you lose it.
Thanks very much for your answer. I don't have my blood test results - what should I ask my gp for ? As you can tell I'm fairly new to all this. I've been on Levothyroxine for 18 months now. My Gp did all my bloods in April and said the levo' was fine.
