The only thing I notice here is that your T4 could be higher. If you are already taking thyroxine or similar, this needs to be near the top of the range for many people. If you are not on Thyroid medication this is looking ok. You may have trouble convincing your doctor to increase thyroxine dose as your TSH is already low in range but it may be worth a try.

Other things that could be making weight loss difficult are low iron, ferritin, b12 and vitamin D. Your folate is pretty high but you really need your b12 to be tested and then supplement if it is below 500.

Your iron is low end of normal so it would be a good idea to check your ferritin (stored iron) too. Ferritin really needs to be around 70-90 for your body to use thyroxine well.

I can't see the vitamin D result but I can see the ranges. It's probably me but could you please just tell me the vitamin D result again. This is very important for weight loss.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Ok. It seems they haven't done the vitamin D. Some labs refuse to do it. Your doctor can request it again. If you have fatigue, depression, aches and pains etc they could be symptoms of deficiency and vitamin D should be tested. High risk groups include over 60s, those with chronic conditions (particularly autoimmune), those who spend a lot of time indoors.

Your B12 is far too low, especially with your folate so high. You would most likely benefit from supplementing. This may also help with your weight loss.

Hope that helps

I didn't mention l am also on 5mg of folic acid tablets,......my last visit to GP was as l was feeling ,like morning sickness......he gave me

LANSOPRAZOLE 30mg,questioned it on here, was told not to,only took 2tablets.,

Ok. Are you still getting the morning sickness feeling?

The folic acid explains your high folate result. You should really take b12 at the same time.

I think this needs investigating. It may be nothing or it may be low stomach acid or high stomach acid. The symptoms for both are similar so it's important to know which it is. Low stomach acid is very common with hypothyroidism.

It may be that you do need to take something for a while.

Do you think

LANSOPRAZOLE is safe,as hashimoto as well,......or what would help me.....how long would l have to take for

Please write what bloods do l ask for Carolyn,to show doctor....as l agree with you ,needs to get sorted.

I'm not sure what tests you would need for this.

I think the medication is ok short term but it can intefere with absorption of thyroxine and vitamins and minerals. Obviously if you have a condition that requires it, you should take it. This is why the cause of the sickness needs to be investigated to make sure it is the right treatment. You may require an endoscopy but I don't know about other tests. Someone else may know :)

A glucose tolerance text may be useful. My husband had reactive hypoglycaemia and one of the symptoms of his blood sugar dropping is severe nausea and sometimes a cold sweat.
