Have inflated balloon feeling under lower right rib cage. Been through the battery of tests and told organs and intestines look ok. Dr. gave me Dicyclomine for spasms but has not helped, he said it may be IBS give it a week and we'll take it from there. Not really painful more pressure but getting very annoying. Any ideas would be very welcomed, thanks.

Pressure under right rib cage.
I have had this same ache pressure for three years now Doc said gallstones so had gallbladder removed ache still there is fairness he said it may be there forever and it just one of them things that never can give answer to. I had camera down throat that showed inflammation around that area .. due to me leaving England now recently and moving to Switzerland I have had to leave the continued appointments behind and I am hoping to continue observations etc in Switzerland.
Sometimes the ache eases with exercise and plenty of water and eating well then I have a flare up and the pain can be quite inflamed for a day or so. My doc happily has never shown any over concern and stated because after three years you haven’t got any better or worse we are not overly concerned .. so I take that as a positive and just go about my day .. I think it is down to diet I don’t have a bad diet just normal I’m not over weight I exercise gently only in mid forties .. it is weird how the ache just appeared one day and never went
Hope you get some answer but try not to worry and stress as this makes it worse also.
Thanks Vickie
Hi I had this too and had lots of tests. It turned out to be SIBO small intestine bacterial overgrowth. Perhaps look it up and see if you have any of the other symptoms
See an Infectious Disease doctor or functional medicine doctor. For a year I have been sick. Mine is left side pain. Been thru 2 dozen specialists, hospital visits, blood tests, endoscopy, colonoscopy, MRI, CT scan etc. all cane back normal.. I was not feeling normal finally diagnosed with an amoeba parasite just 4 days ago! See my bio for all my symptoms.
I have been diagnosed Graves Disease a year ago and Gastritis a couple of months ago. but knew it was more than that. Lost 20lbs and I am sick looking at 108. Went on thyroid meds and my thyroid quickly went back to normal.
The right side is your liver which e-histolytica can infect. Make an appointment ASAP.
Not sure where you are but I went to a guy in NYC and performed an school test. Most labs don’t find them he said. I started my first round of antibiotics for 3 days and waiting a day to start the next 10 day.
The test is called a sigmoidoscope. Lots of people with stomach issues have parasites and don’t know it. Some are Asymptomatic and others are like me...full blown sick.
Hope this helps, you find answers and feel better!
Hi, I'm new but thought would search before writing my own post asking for advice.
I came across yours and it sounds similar. I don't have much/any pain in the lower right but it feels like there's something there and almost balloon like just under the surface. It blows up and down most of the day. Can actually feel it happening If I lie down on hard floor and relax.
The Dr has told me it all sounds like ibs and has prescribed buscopan and laxido, mainly because I am predominantly constipated with it. I have occasional diarrhoea but 8/10 it's constipation.
There's some days where it's not too bad but yesterday and today it's worse. It has stopped me from sleeping really, I had to move to spare room as I was tossing and turning too much and disrupting the wife's sleep. I lay awake for hours with just my hand on the area feeling it go up and down and worrying myself to sleep basically.
I can massage the area gently and it gargles and bubbles are rather loud. Its like I had drunk 10L of fizzy juice but hadn't had any in weeks.
As you mentioned toward your rib pain I have sometimes felt it there. However my main area is from my appendix scar towards my hip bone. That entire area just bloats and that's it. Nowhere else really..
I am hoping for the lockdown to end soon so I can perhaps have a physical exam. But before I do I wanted to just find out I'm not alone and my symptoms are actually quite common. It would certainly put my mind at ease somewhat.
Sorry for the long reply..
Thanks
