I had my gallbladder removed in October 2019 and have had constipation, diarrhoea, stomach cramps, excessive bloating since. Have had scans, stool and blood tests which thankfully doesn't show anything sinister. Am taking cholestagel twice a day. Have been passed from pillar to post and not having any diagnosis. Have tried low fodmap diet with not a vast change to symptoms. On bad days have to take loperamide which leads to chronic constipation and need to take something to help with that. Getting to the stage where if I'm due to leave the house I'm frightened to eat anything. It's taking over my life.

So sorry to hear this. I had chronic cramp, d, pain, trapped gas for about 6 years then the d turned to c. My bowel had become long, loopy, twisted and waste was difficult to pass. This lasted for several years. Then I had an infected gallbladder due to gallstones. It resulted in sepsis. Eventually after the infection cleared my gallbladder was removed last summer. I have been a lot beter ever since. I can eat anything and bowel motions are more regular.
