Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but here goes.

I had to go to the gp recently with awful constipation and was given 2 boxes of Laxido! I drank 5 sachets immediately, with great success, over 2 days. The following day I experienced a lot of diarrhea and the day after, nothing! I have only taken 1 sachet a day after the initial dose and am now wondering, should I up the dose? Perhaps my system is now empty so there is nothing left to expel? Any suggestions or advice would be most welcome.

Your system is very likely empty, takes 48 hrs for new poo to appear 😀

I am on a maintenence dose of two sachets per day for life. I have IBS-C and I have a very slow transit time and weak peristalsis.Two per day, along with around 25-30g fibre a day (I track this using My Fitness Pal) and I drink 2.5-3 litres fluid a day, and Inow have soft bowel movement, 1-3 tines daily. But you need the fibre and all that fluid.

I find if I take meds and diahoreah it takes up to three days to poo again as the intestines are empty… it’s very hit and miss with bowels isn’t it. U could try a diferent med like magrogol , I use that.

Also huge dates are useful, one a day….

Hi. You're right, it is very hit and miss with bowels! I'll try your suggestion regarding dates. It'll make a change from prunes anyway!

medjool dates are big plump….I have two and go much easily….I need to get some more but I’m in France and can only get them whrn I leave this mountain….I’d deffo recommend this type as thry are plump and actually tastey…

Ive never ever thought about dates….. I remember the small ones u git at Xmas….these are big juicy things, sweet, and tastey…work miracles so I’m a fan now!

I take this and have to adjust dosage most days. If I have a decent bowel motion then I do not take any sachets the next day but take 1/2 sachets the following day. It is just an adjustment I take most days and what I have had to eat comes into it too.
