Hi

I have been on here before with same old problem slow transit bowel and severe constipation which last three years have been a nightmare !

Anyway dont like taking Laxido because of nasty side effects but unfortunately on it again because the only thing that works. However this time round am going to the toilet without difficilty

( Hooray! ) AND only taking 1 satchet daily BUT the last few weeks after going have the most horrendous pain in my stomach which lasts most of the day .

Is this normal when using Laxido ? just wondering other peoples experiences

I am having low abdominal pain now, having taken one Laxido sachet for the last 3 days but only managing very small amounts although I keep feeling I need to go. This happens all the time. I have very bad Diverticulitis and what I’m sure is IBS but hasn’t been diagnosed with IBS. After going to the toilet I have abdominal pain and I have it most times during the day and always wake up with it all over tummy in morning. We are not alone I believe. Wishing you well.

I so agree, it really gets you down. You’re never free from tummy pain one way or another and doctors don’t seem to want to know about IBS or Diverticulosis. Just leave you to get on with it or give medication that causes other problems.

I too have severe diverticulosis & constant stomach pain, which is worse in the morning. Just wondering if you get any other symptoms, such as weak & aching muscles, mainly in the thighs? Also generally feeling crap (pun intended!) 😅

Feeling crap is the mantra of my life ! Ive had several scans over the years but never been able to get a full report . I am convinced I have Diverticulosis aswell but never been told this officially and also get pain in thighs but this usually relates to when Im backed up

Ha,ha I like your pun! I can’t say I have weak and aching muscles but I have all sorts of symptoms as I also have a blood cancer, Essential Myelofibrosis which has numerous side effects to medication. I do wish I could go back to feeling well, I am in my 80’s so shouldn’t grumble! Best wishes

Dear heart matters I have celiac disease IBS. Also recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It is worse in the morning and I told doctors I ache all over a d I haven't done anything!!? You have mentioned some similar symptoms so it may be worth looking it up. Good luck. (It was a rheumatologist that diagnosed me)

Thanks for your reply. I did wonder this myself, as when I researched symptoms it does say that a high percentage of IBS sufferers have fibromyalgia too. I have a private consultation coming up with a gastroenterologist soon so I will mention it to him.

Ps - meant to ask - do you get any dizziness or headaches?

Best wishes

Sorry to hear of all the pain you have and others who have posted. There’s a lady in Ireland who has The happy Tummy company. She herself has Ibs and has successfully treated it with her bread making. Her website is worth a look at and some YouTube videos she has made with The Doctors Kitchen.

I have been taking Laxido fora few yrs.Now when I take it every time I pass urine I pass a very thin poo that floats. Its a nightmare if you want to go out.

What Ihave to do is use a suppository to clear my bowel out.

Does any one else have to do this.?

I dont experience that but I fully endorse the unpredictability and it has stopped me going out quite a lot of late which has affected my confidence and increased anxiety .

I also have to use a suppository to clear my bowel ( daily).

Suppositories work for me as well but concerned my bowel will become lazy.Only use the glycerine ones.

I use 2 suppositories together most days which helps with my constipation perhaps 70% of the time. No longer take Laxido or other laxatives which make the bowel lazy and can have long term effects. If bad constipation then a dose of Milk of Magnesia last thing at night works. Doesn't mean this regime will work for you. Hope you do get some relief.Tap on a clip to paste it in the text box.

Gave up on laxido , but eventually saw a gastroenterologist and requested I wax put on linaclotide, what a difference still dont have a bm everyday but at least 2 times a week which is normal for me. I still get pain but not so bad now . But i also have gallstones and just been told i both my hips are really bad. So it could be transfer pains. Btw only gastroenterologist can prescribe linaclotide so push to see one.

I take 1 sachet of fybogel a day. It helps but still not regular and lots of wind after every meal?? Embarrassing. So I can't even go to dentist and optician. Ect ect. Or long journeys. Like a 2 hour drive to my 2 sons. I'm heartbroken about that. Anyway the point I was going to make is I see fybogel as a high fibre drink NOT a drug.

Thank you for getting back. I have tried Fybogel on and off worked much better when I was years younger but like you now makes me very gassy and similar with journeys . Had a terrible 18 months so no holidays this year. Specialists just seem to want to increase laxitives to the point you cant leave the house and yet to find one that really understands. Take Care
