I have been taking 2 sachets of Laxido for 5 days now and I think the hard stool blockage has cleared. This morning I woke up with lots and I mean LOTS of Diarrhea - very soupy consistency. When my dr prescribed me this, he did say I would need to be close to a toilet! … I am now unsure about my next steps… Do I stop taking it as I am no longer constipated and am having very loose stools or do I lower my dose?
Also what foods should I be eating , as I have very little appetite.
Thank you

We're all different but I would stop taking Laxido as not good to take regularly. When I get a blockage, a dose of Milk of Magnesia last thing at night usually works.
i was given laxido and after a few doses it soften my stool. So I stopped and within a week or so my stools are hard again and difficu lo t to pass. I was given docusate but that does not seem to work. So I have started laxido again. I have been worse for stopping it. Lactulose worked but gave me bad pains and wind. The doctor suggested olive oil in my diet.
Might be worth posing that question to your GP, since I don't know your history with constipation. However, personally I would stop until the diarrhoea clears up.
For long term management of constipation (and perhaps without needing laxatives), you could try some of the tips on here:
I'd suggest decreasing the dose after diarrhoea has slowed down. Product notes say that a dose on alternate days may be needed for long term use. However the package leaflet is helpful and as is xjrs's suggestion.
Hi I was taking 8 first day the 12,16,16 cleared impacted constipation. Stopped taking and still had watery poo for 6 days.
Eventually cleared was okay for a week and got constipated again been taking 3 then 2 then 1 stopped yesterday still running to toilet can’t go to work
from my experience Laxido can vary in its effect. Some days one sachet enough other days I need to take two. I would certainly cut back to one sachet. You may not poop for a day after such a vigorous clear out. Eat some weetabix with fruit to keep things moving at a gentler pace.
