Ibs/iron deficiency anaemia

Hi I had my double procedure on Wednesday, moviprep didn’t take any effect until 2 hours before hospital appointment! So had the gastroscopy first then the colonoscopy but it was not clear , I was in so much pain and my bp dropped I eventually asked him to stop !! The sedation and gas and air did not touch me !! Procedures started straight after the sedation went into my arm !! Having to have a rescope now with different prep and senna tablets for few days before ! Gastroscopy showed hiatus hernia. Biopsies taken also for possible coeliac disease. I am going to ask for deeper sedation next time aswell ! The pain was worst I have ever experienced!! Waiting now to see results of biopsies and for rescope 🙈still taking iron tabs for the anaemia too !!

Found out just before Christmas that I have a hiatus hernia. Apparently its quite common with reflux

Thanks for your reply , hope you are ok with it ? doctor has given me peptic liquid and doubled up on my lansoprazole

Vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain. Not sure totally related to the hernia though as it's only a small one

You could do with a stool test to check for inflammation. Then try and get the Colonoscopy done. Sounds like your more constipated rather than the other way.

Yes I get constipated then I can’t stop going! It’s a viscous circlle , a lady is ringing this pm from hospital to book me in for another colonoscopy!

Hi , I have acid reflex a lot and indigestion , assumed it was all part and parcel of the IBS , waiting to see what results of gastroscopy biopsies are now for coeliacs disease , could be all connected I suppose !
