MoviPrep

I thought they’d give me Citrafleet for the prep as my dad had one last week and that’s what he got but for some reason they gave me MoviPrep and I’m freaking out a little (a lot). I’ve read so much about this prep and it really scares me how many people say it made them vomit.

I have since experienced the joys of moviprep 🤢🤮 and had the colonoscopy done on 20th Jan with sedation. The report from this mentions that the procedure was not complete due to the presence of scar tissue & adhesions from previous gynae surgeries.

Due for colonoscopy this morning, so spent the last 3 days on a white diet, no alcohol, yesterday went through the Moviprep routine to empty bowels, spent all evening on and off toilet, most unpleasant.

I didn't mind the taste of the Moviprep, though it was too sweet and because I drank it chilled, it set my teeth off terribly. I logged how many times I "went": 22 times between 5pm and midnight. Well I'm used to going 12 times in an hour; that's why I'm having this done!

Hi, As anyone had any experience of using Moviprep as a bowel cleanser before a colonoscopy? I was diagnosed with AFib last year as well as having Hypothyroidism and am a bit concerned as had no feedback to my questions from the Gastro Dept.

I posted a few weeks ago about an aborted colonoscopy due to onset of AF triggered by stress of bowel cleansing prep (Moviprep). The objective of procedure was to see if any gastric issue causing blood loss / anaemia/ very low iron.

Hi all, I am due to start the Moviprep this evening, before my colonoscopy in the morning. As it stands none of my worry is for the actual procedure, it’s just for the prep!

I start taking the Moviprep Thursday evening 7 pm. My second is at 8.30 am Friday morning. It says usual meds should be taken at least two hours before starting the Moviprep to minimise flushing meds through and not being absorbed.

They have developed a liquid called MoviPrep which is so much easier to take than the horrible old liquid they used to prescribe, so for me it was easy to go through the whole procedure this time, And I'm glad I did.

Hi. I have the delightful experience of a colonoscopy to look forward to. On the prep info it says that people with thyroid disease should check with their gp before taking the stuff. Has anyone used this prep?

Now had to cancel my appointment as I appear to be allergic to the Moviprep. Luckily I had only taken 250ml as within half an hour my tongue started to swell and felt really thick and sore from rubbing on my teeth.

ive been given Moviprep and hesrd awful stories about this stuff. i havd been panicking all week and as prep day approaches im seriously scared of taking the prep,having sedation and getting the results incase its really bad news. 

Hello, I'm having a colonoscopy in 2 days time and really worried moviprep is not going to work and make things even worse with my chronic constipation. Any experiences with moviprep and chronic constipation? Thank you for reading

I found the moviprep difficult! They found apthouous ulcers in my terminal iluem and I had biopsies taken which came back normal. I was happy it wasn't anything serious and just IBS!

Hi I had my double procedure on Wednesday, moviprep didn’t take any effect until 2 hours before hospital appointment! So had the gastroscopy first then the colonoscopy but it was not clear , I was in so much pain and my bp dropped I eventually asked him to stop !!

I was due to have this today but when I read the Moviprep laxative leaflet it warned of the effects of the large amount of Sodium on the liver. I rang 111, they said don't take it and to seek further advice.

I need sufficient time for the Gastro Resistant Pred to be absorbed before I take the Moviprep, starting 4.30pm - 5.00pm.
