Found My IBS-D Cure!

Hey all,

37M here . I've had IBS-d for about 13 years after going on antibiotics for an extended period of time followed by stress which kicked off years of digestive issues. Main symptoms have been constant diarrhoea and having to run to the bathroom very shortly after (or during) eating. I tried everything over the years such as probiotics, going vegan, dairy free, homeopathy, trying to kill off candida, stool samples (all clear) and even got an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Nothing worked and I rarely, if ever, did a solid poop. My sister recommended I try taking Camels milk. I've been taking it for the past 5 weeks and after the 3rd or 4th week I finally started doing solid poops again - the relief was unbelievable! I actually had to push again to have a bowel movement after years of everything just flushing out of me. I started taking just a 1/4 teaspoon of it everyday for a week and then up the dose each week by 1/4 teaspoon. Im on week 5 and it really as done the trick for me - I will keep upping the dose until I am on 2 tablespoons a day and probably take it for 6 months or more. My sister did this to her young kids and said it helped immensely with any food intolerances and even lactose intolerance. Just wanted to let everybody know in case it helped someone else. The milk of the camel is very high in probiotics, nutrients, vitamins etc as there obviously isn't much liquid around in the desert so every drop has to be top quality milk for their young to be healthy. Let me know if you have any questions!

Lucky you for being able to access it. I'm familiar with camel's milk because its a staple in my culture and has numerous benefits.

Because of the dosage is small I defrosted the whole bottle and measured out the doses into ice cube trays. Start with 1/4 teaspoon for a week and then increase by a 1/4 teaspoon each week until you are on 2 tablespoons a day. This is raw and unpasteurised. That long life one from ASDA wouldn't be much good as it's long life and has been heated to high temperature most likely - also it has more ingredients so isn't pure.

I bought camel milk very expensive and stop taking it a month ago. My stomach seems to bloated after consuming it.

I remember taking it only 3 days then i said to myself.. i quit drinking this camel milk.

Maybe you were taking too much? I started with just 1/4 teaspoon everyday for a week then slowly increased. It's more like taking it as medicine rather than "drinking" it - gives your stomach a chance to get used to it.

Hi Andy, Thanks for sharing your great news, I’m so pleased to hear it has helped.

Can I ask, are you drinking camel that is unpasteurised? If so, isn’t there a risk of getting and upset stomach? All the best

Thanks, it really has been a miracle for me. It is raw and unpasteurised but, if you think about it, that's the way milk is meant to be! I have had a very sensitive stomach for years but I haven't had an upset stomach due to the camels milk. I am taking very small doses to let my body get used to it and then building it up. I'm not "drinking" it as such, more taking it in spoonfuls like a medicine.

Hi Andy I am interested in your comments re camel's milk. When you say you "I started taking just a 1/4 teaspoon of it everyday for a week and then up the dose each week by 1/4 teaspoon" - did you mean you take it 'dried' or with water? I have Ulcerative Colitis and will try anything to relieve the symptoms. Also where did you buy it from? Thanks Kate

Hi violetmycat,This is what I am taking: desertfarms.co.uk/products/...

It is raw and unpasteurised camels milk. It is not dried milk powder. I have actually read some articles before about it being helpful for colitis. I think the key is not to drink it as if you were having a drink but to use it in small doses as I have been doing.

Hi Andy,

Is it possible that because you’re trying something new that your body is adjusting and acting a bit different for a little while

The reason I ask is I have tried a number of things that I thought had cured by IBS over the years only realise they were temporary (usually around a month or two).

I suppose the only way to know is to keep going and report back after some time has passed

IBS, a syndrome, isn't something that can be cured. However you can treat but maybe not cure symptoms resulting from a dysfunctional gut. A dysfunctional gut, something that's probably written into your genes, can't be healed yet but who knows, seen the current / future research on genes, they will find personal cures 🤞🏻
