Anyone get C and then D in the same visit to the loo in the middle of the night?

Hi. I'm on Citalopram long term for depression, HRT for the last 2 years, menopausal for over 10 years, on Quetiapine minimum dose for the last year for anxiety but recently gone up, Omeprazole for the IBS, Vitamin D which really helps my mood and vitamin C as I like the orange fizz in the morning.

I've recently been waking up about 2am needing an urgent poo. Then I'm sat gently straining for what seems ages, massive poo and then gurgling stomach followed by watery diarrhoea. Any ideas?

It seems that the soluble Vitamin C tablets are having a laxative effect. This is what I found when using them in the past.

Yes I have c & d together. I go to bed at night with stomach & gut cramps and get up with stomach & gut cramps. I've stopped all the Omeprazole and mebeverine. I've been like this continuously for at least 18 months. I've had all the tests. There is nothing more to do and nothing else to say. 😐

The only thing that changed recently is the doubling of the quetiapine. When I started it on the minimum dose, it calmed my guts right down to one relatively normal poo a day. This was wonderful compared to the past. I'm now constipated so I might speak to the GP about something else for my anxiety. I might try the laxatives again and hope to find a balance. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks for each and every response.

Occasionally it has happened. However, I prefer it to happen during the night than during the day. Con amore Bx
