Hi guys. I have my colonoscopy on Tuesday. The nurse that rang me to book me in gave instructions different to what I've recieved in the post in terms of the bowel prep.

1. The nurse told me to stop eating at around 3 on Monday (tomorrow) and have the first litre of moviprep at around 6/7 and the second on Tuesday morning.

2. The leaflet says to have the first litre at around 6/7 tuesday morning and then the 2nd around 11.

I'm confused at what to do and cant contact them as its bank holiday weekend. My appointment is at 5pm.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no medical knowledge, but I would be inclined to follow the nurse's instructions, as she knows your personal situation and the time of your test.

Hey

I had colonoscopy this weekend in the afternoon and I had to stop eating at 3pm on Friday and take the first litre of moviprep at 7pm and the second litre at 6am on the Saturday morning.

I would do what the nurse said.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Do as the nurse I stricter. If you take both on Tuesday you'll never get off the toilet in time to get to your appointment.

In agreement with everyone. Follow the nurse's instructions. Good luck with it all.

Definitely agree - follow what nurse said. I had mine a few weeks ago in the afternoon and the times follow what the nurse told you. Having the two in the morning would mean you’ll be on the toilet for most of the day - imagine she is aware and was telling you to space for comfort. Plus, as long as you take it all and don’t eat for at least 12 hours before too you will be fine. Good luck! If really worries there should be a number for the on call endoscopy registrar who can advise.

Listen to the nurse ... I had one last Monday .. I also phoned and checked and was to do what the nurse said as it depends on which time of day you have it ..so the instructions by the nurse have to be followed ... by the way don’t worry about the colonoscopy "....

I agree with everyone else. Do what the nurse said. I had mine at 2 in the afternoon, my last meal was lunch the day before with moviprep at 6 that evening and again at 6 the following morning. Good luck. X

Yes, follow the nurse's advice, you usually start the day before. Tip is to make it up with warm water, not cold, it makes it more drinkable without freezing you.
