Hiya I'm prescribed an opioid for pain which makes me extremely blocked up, I'm also on other meds like diazepam & meds for copd etc.

My question is can I take Senna with laxido, as I've gone from been extremely sensitive to laxido to it barely working at all. yes it's keeping stuff soft but I still feel that backed up it feels like it's crushing my chest... I don't know what's going on am I becoming more compacted even though I'm passing loose stuff, the hard part is getting the soft stools out as it feels like there's no muscle ATM

. Any advice would be appreciated and how bad should it get before I goto A&E which I don't fancy due to the corona virus been prevalant.

I've been in opiods, laxatives and Benzodiazepines since I was a teenager in now in my early 40s so a hell of a long time...

You should speak to a pahrmacist about what medications you can take together. They have a special book that tells them all this information.

Never rely on what other people take.

I found out I could not take buscapan but could take mabeverin due to a medical contradiction.

Hey

I was on most of the tablets you mentioned as i have a slipped disc and may other joint problems and i decided to just come of all of them about 3 years ago as like u it was effecting my stomach... my ibs went through roof to point i was hospitalised and lost 3 stone.

I couldnt eat or keep anything in.

I couldnt poop.

It was awful.

I came off all the drugs and decided to do it all natural.

What a blessing it was.. never looked back.

I have a inflammatory desease that effect all my cartliage joints muscles so am prone to injuries.

So i took up pilate and yoga to strengthen my body..

then i took vit c, d ....

good probiotics and prebiotics...

Serratease for inflammation

Just took up jogging...

Gave up red meat and gluten as there inflammatiorys and no processed food.

Never been better.

IBS has gone.

Poop everyday.

Also just feel better in myself

I agree with bookeater, however, sometimes the pharmacist or GP may need some assistance, and it may be worthwhile mentioning a drug called Naloxegol, which I was part of a trial on in this country. It stops opioids affecting the bowel, but lets them treat the pain. Unfortunately, I was one of the people that suffered with a reaction of excessive pain, when taking the drug, so I got pulled, although the drug is available, but maybe on secondary care, not primary, I not sure. Certainly worth a check.
