I’m such a coward when it comes to doctors. I had my gallbladder removed four years ago approximately 1year later I started getting trouble with my bowels I did see my go who prescribed buscopan and was told if these don’t help I’d have to go to hospital for the camera. At the time I thought not bloody likely. Time passed by I kept buying buscopan so for the last three years I’ve ticked along until one day I felt a long lump on my left side I thought I needed to go to toilet but it wasn’t that then I convinced myself it was diverticulitis nope not that either. I phoned my GP who insisted I came in to surgery after examining me I was told they thought it was an ovarian cyst but I needed scans . Ultrasound and CT scans later im sitting in a consultation room with a specialist nurse and the consultant telling me “ surgery is not an option “ I have months to live the cancer has spread throughout my abdomen ovaries bowel liver and lung .
So please if anyone out there is reading this and too scared to get things checked out GO and get checked or you could be sitting there writing your own message and feeling like a fool . I’m 62 I was looking forward to retirement with my partner of 32 years.
DONT BE AFRAID IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!
