I have recently been prescribed laxido to help with overflow diarrhoea and while I’m currently on long term sick due to migraines it doesn’t really matter which day I go but I am due to go back to work soon and I am really worried about taking laxatives as my job isn’t really the kind of job where you can excuse yourself to go to the toilet whenever you need to - I work in a hospital and would have to call someone to take over me and that isn’t always guaranteed due to staffing.
Obviously taking loperamide defeats the object but I’m worried that I’ll have to use it to just be able to do my job!!

Hi I am also on Laxido, my gastroenterologist told me NOT to take Loperamide! I assumed the 2 meds would be trying to work against each other. Hope this helps.
Hi, I have IBS-D and suffer from severe anxiety as a result. Currently prescribed with a anti-depressant to help cope with a nervous gut. Weight dropped drastically with long term frequent diarrhoea episodes. As a result my GP prescribed Lomotil generic; Co-phenotrope which works wonders to stop the diarrhoea. I am Hospital based working in a clinical lab so can't run to the toilets before scrubbing up. Also holding a position comes with responsibility so can't be randomly off sick. I've also been reported to HR regards sickness absence, inability to do all shifts, log of errors reeled out all due to IBS-D.
