when will laxido wear off?

Went to the doctors and told I was very backed up and needed to take laxido orange, eight sachets a day for three days. I finished this on Saturday and its Tuesday and my stools are still very loose and I have to rush to the bathroom first thing in the morning. Does anyone know how long the effects of laxido stay in your body and when I am likely to go back to normal?

I would never take laxido or other meds for constipation, rather eat prunes or something! Although I understand sometimes necessary but sounds like you had a lot!

Laxido is both awesome and awful. I was on the same dose as you initially after severe constipation. It did absolutely nothing for three days, then I felt like I didn't leave the bathroom for a week, in reality it actually did take that long to calm down.

I suffer from bad constipation due to the meds I have to take, and before being prescribed laxido it literally made my life hell. I've been taken in to hospital twice due to fecal impaction, where the stool is so hard and so stuck it's impossible to remove naturally. The pain was unreal. So this med is a God-send.

Even though my doc advised me to take 2 sachets every day, it's just too much. Instead I take Laxido on a Thursday and Friday and it makes it things manageable without being locked on the loo for days.

At the dose you've had I expect it will take a week, maybe a little longer for things to go back to normal. Sorry and good luck!

Hello LionessRampant. I have been suffered like you. I also have a rectal prolapse which means that often very soft stools bypass it. I also have ulcerative colitis. Leaking bladder. I was wondering how long the effects of Laxido last, and saw your post saying that it could be up to a week. That put my mind at rest, thank you. It will be a week tomorrow since I had my last Laxido. I have to wear pads, and now constantly checking them. I am hopeful now after reading your post, that the symptoms will soon calm down. Thank you for your help, and good luck with your problems too.

Briar Hill Cat.
