Imho
Buscapan works quicker than Mebeverine and I take after a meal. Mebeverine time release capsules I take 20 mins b4 eating. Good luck
hi , if you suffer from constipation I would avoid Buscopan , it slows down the digestive tract. That was the advice from my gastroenterologist.
Unfortunately neither seem to do anything at all for me.
I'm not sure Mebeverine ever did a thing for me, but a half tablet of Buscopan seems to control cramps and urgency, for a few hours. It takes effect (it seems) within about 20 mins of taking it, but with the mild side-effects mentioned above. Could be placebo effect of course.
Hi, Buscopan I find is best for me, only take when cramps are bad, also take alongside occasionally with Imodium if needed. This can be expensive and I have not tried to get on prescription as I only take it occasionally. Dr's seem to prescribe Mebeverine, but for me doesn't really help.Hope this is helpful to you.
Take care Pollyboo
Hi, Mebeverine doesn't work for me , it just makes me constipated . I find that Buscopan works for cramps , yet I find if I take it regularly it never works for me .I hope it goes well 🙏
Both cause ne to be constipated, may be ok if you have ibsd
I am not able to tolerate Buscopan, since for some weird reason it gives me heart palpitations. I tried it twice years apart and always got the same result. When I needed to be on antispasmodics to slow down IBS diarrhoea, I used Mebeverine and was OK with that. However, as everyone else says it's down to what suits you best, since everyone's make up is different, so might be trial and error with either or. I wouldn't take either if you are constipated.
hi l use this if l’m a bit windy and found it quite calming. I have ulcerative colitis. Best wishes
Hello Harley 1020.
I have managed to get buscopan on perscription (as its so expensive to buy over the counter). I have had a really bad episode of ibsd and was on two tablets four times a day but now managed to reduce them after a couple of months to completely stopping them. Such a relief until the next episode. Am trying my best to stay calm and not stress!!
Hope whichever you try works for you. Good luck. xx
Hi, I take buscopan to help with the intestine cramps and that works well for me. I've never taken mebeverine.
