Hi I just wondered if anyone knew if uncoated mebeverine tablets contain lactose like the sugar coated ones?

Hi button11, I don't know the answer to your question but wanted to say I am also on meneverine but I had no idea it had lactose! It hasn't given me any trouble, perhaps a pharmacist might be able to advise? Take care

CazO46 thank you for your reply I know I was shocked too and found the pill can also contain lactose!

I take Mebeverine 200 mg time release capsules -have no probs with them. Just checked the ingredients for you so here goes-

magnesium stearate, polyacrylate dispersion 30%, talc,hyromellose, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer, glycerol triacetate

Blimey! should I have started this?? The capsule shell is gelatine and titanium dioxide. That's it hope this helps

Linley haha thank you! My pharmacy keeps changing between coated and uncoated and I didn’t know if both contained lactose I’ve not seen any capsule type pills before

I asked my GP to give me something that works quicker and these capsules do the trick for me-worth thinking about

I was given mebeverine for symptoms of lactose intolerance the ones I was given contains lactose but still help x
