Hello. Thank you in advance for responding to my long post. I've had IBS for as long as I can remember. This past October, the dizziness and nausea started up and kept going all winter. Could have been part of a virus that revealed itself in November. I had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy mid January. Colonoscopy was clean. Stomach had an area of inflammation and some small lesions. Doctor thought it might be h pylori, but it wasn't. It was minor ulcers probably caused from NSAIDs. Also had a coeliac (spelled celiac, where I'm from) biopsy, which was negative.

The stomach burning started a few days after the procedure. I figured it was normal, since I just had biopsies. I woke up a few nights in excruciating, sharp, gnawing pain. The next day I felt so drained and awful, like I'd been hit by a truck. It was like when my stomach was empty and that made the pain worse. I could not get back to sleep. Peptobismol didn't help much. It was the weekend, so I had to wait a few days then called the doctor's office, spoke with a nurse. She told me there was no way the procedure had caused the pain, it had to be something else. She was rude and obnoxious. I told her I had never ever had that pain before the procedure. She told me to take a liquid antacid, but nothing really helped much. This pain came and went ever day or so. Some evenings I could feel it coming, so I ate something right before sleep. Seemed to be gone for awhile, then came back with a vengeance in the middle of the night. It is worse when my stomach is empty, for sure. I have also had a strange sensation in my mouth. Hard to describe. A drying feeling on my tongue, but my mouth is not dry. A few burps here and there, 1-2 for a day, then no burps.

I asked for a stool test before I had the procedure, but didn't take it until afterwards. Results: I had cryptosporidium. I waited until my stomach wasn't burning too much and took the 3 day medication, nitazoxanide. No idea if connected, but my dizziness and nausea went away for a few weeks. And then my stool changed.

Ever since taking the crypto medication, my stool is completely different than before. I never had a noisy, gurgling stomach. I never had any gas for years, either. Now I've had some major boughts of gas. Now I have both, plus strange changes in my stool. Not all foods give me gas, but I've been surprised when I eaten super bland rice and some oil, then my stomach is all noisy. It now only comes out in 1" balls every single time, except one or two mornings I had spasticity, like I always had previously. I do not feel constipated; the balls come out multiple times a day. I am not dehydrated either. I drink 4-5 32 oz water a day, just as I always have. The dizziness and nausea came back for two weeks, went away last week.

My diet is on the bland side. Gluten and soy free, have dairy every so often. I eat GF rice, quinoa, GF oats, meat proteins, veggies, rarely fruit. I eat a good helping of healthy fats daily. I am height and weight proportionate, muscular and strong.

Has any of this happened to anyone? Where you able to get it fixed? Something about these procedures caused my stomach burning. What and why? Why is my stool all weird like this? I am going to the GI doctor this Friday to see what she has to say. Since scheduling this appointment last week, I've tried esomeprazole, which seems to help a little.
