4 weeks ago an NHS dietitian told me to go completely dairy free. I can`t stand any of the milk substitutes in ordinary tea so I have been drinking more mint tea. I know this is meant to help digestion and bloating etc but I have had much more wind and more pain from trapped wind. I haven`t changed anything else in my diet so I don`t know what else it can be. (I already follow the fodmap diet)
Today I`ve emailed the dietitian to ask if I can stop the dairy-free as I don`t feel it is helping at all - so far she hasn`t replied

i use goats milk too and find tnis more agreeable than soya almond etc. I dont think I am totally daity intolerant as dietician put me on FODMAP diet 5 yrs ago and I cut out dairy then. I can tolerate tea with milk when away from home but in very small daily doses. I get a lot of bloating but my.list of foods I am intolerant keeps incteasing due to numerous doses of antibiotics (recurrent bouts of chronic bronchitis).
it induces trapped wind to move forward to be easilly expelled out ..that is why you felt more gasy with pains of the triggered wind movement (by the mint tea ) after drinking it ..this exactly happened to me ..that's why i cut it out of my list
