What does everyone think of peppermint tea... does it really help with gas and bloating and constipation?

When in the day is best to Fri k it to help constipation... night?

What brand do you drink? I saw this one in Holland and Barrett hollandandbarrett.com/shop/...

But not sure if its any different to twinnings one or if the properties of all peppermint tea is the same and you just pay for the brands.

I have only used the peppermint oil capsules and they help with bloating and pain. They are enteric coated so they reach your small intestines intact which is where the help the most.

My ibs is d but I used to drink peppermint and fennel tea and this was good for keeping regular. I'd say it's more something to help in a routine basis but if you're currently blocked up probably won't be a massive help.

Twinnings are good but read the label cos they mix different tea in sometimes. You can get one that is just fennel and peppermint though.

Good luck

Ps

The one your looking at on H&B is good for just peppermint.

It is when the bad bacteria in your gut takes over and your food ferments and does not get digested properly or metabolised properly. It causes bloating, pain and bowel problems.

Peppermint tea doesn’t help for constipation. I take it for bloating.

You need to take a high amount of magnesium citrate or oxide. About 800 to 1200mg. I have had Ibs c almost my whole life and am now in my fifties. This is the best natural supplement to take for this condition and I have tried many. Even my consultant recommended it. I take it every day. You must take it on an empty stomach just before bed with lots of water. I would start with a high dose initially just to clear you out. Even if it means taking a few capsules. I sometimes take 6 200mg capsules. Capsules are the best not tablets and it has to be citrate or oxide as these are the ones that work for constipation. There is a lot of information about constipation and magnesium on the internet. There is a site called Ibs tales that discusses this. The ones I take are either Now foods Magnesium citrate, Solgar Magnesium Citrate or Life extensions. I get mine from the US on a site called iHerb, but you can get them on Amazon. There are other magnesium oxide products specifically for colon cleansing called Mag 07, Colosan and Oxypowder. They are a bit expensive but are amazing. I use these in between. No cramps no bloating, just relief. You can get these on Amazon as well. Don't suffer any longer. By the way I also follow a low fodmap diet through a dietician but this alone does not help constipation.

I drink peppermint tea every day and tend to buy the supermarket own ones. They are as good as the others but a better price.

Yes it helps for sure. I have it every morning to set me up for the day. I then have it the during the day if needed. I would recommend getting some and trying it. It's also good as most food or drink places sell it so it's an option to have when out too.
