Doxycycline down-regulates matrix metalloproteinase expression and inhibits NF-κB signaling
New study below [1]. "Doxycycline, a synthetic tetracycline ..." I have an interest in the PCa/tetracycline literature. The family of drugs is inexpensive, & well-tolerated with long-term use. Several months back Ed Miller reported that: "Ten days of the antibiotic clendamycin lowered my PSA for 3 months

Hello everyone! I wrote on the forum a few months back prior to attending a private GP reccomended from Thyroid UK in May. Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Seeds

Seeds are often grouped with nuts, & why not? - "many nuts (in the culinary sense), such as almonds, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, and Brazil nuts, are not nuts in a botanical sense." I am also feeling a whole lot better. My previous bloods from Blue Horizon on 2/11/2016 showed low vit D and v

Just left my appointment with the Endo...
The long anticipated appointment with the Endo (Lewisham Hospital) just ended.. it was an anticipated dis-appointment. All my blood tests are normal (within range) so no other help is given. The only important thing is TSH and that is low. I said that TSH doesn't say much at all, and that it's the free

Started T4 - 3 weeks ago - feel much worse!
Hi all I started on Levothyroxine sodium exactly 3 weeks ago. Dose of 50ug one day and 25ug next day and I feel and look much worse! I know advice here states it can take up to 6 weeks to feel any effect. By the way I'm self medicating as though was a long wait to see Endocrinologist and GP wouldn't

Hi everyone. Doctors today!
I have a review of my results today. I went in complaining of depression and no energy and wanted to check if deficient in anything first before I considered anti depressents. I am 48 and went through the menopause at 44. I have been on thyroid medication since 2013 now 75mcg. Anyone help with these

Results on NDT
Hi everyone. I have been on NDT now for a littleover a year. I have been OK at 2.5 grains, but recently started feeling very tired. It could be stress (a lot on my shoulders) but I thought I'd better rule out undermedication. I have no hyper symptoms at all. I also supplement vit d, omega 3, b12, iron

hypo; stopped levo, kept T3; advice?
Dear Wise Community, First, thanks for all your good posts and help here. I'm new here but have been lurking a bit. Long story first, then the question: I was Dx hyper in 2002; methimazole for 6 months solved it. No problems til 2012 (or, no diagnosed problems), when I went badly hypo and was put on

Decreased zinc in the development and progression of malignancy
New paper below [1]. These guys seem upset: "Efficacious chemotherapy does not exist for treatment or prevention of prostate ... carcinomas ... Zinc treatment offers a potential solution; but its support has been deterred by adverse bias." The Franklin & Costello partnership goes back at least 40 years

Do I need selenium if I'm taking NDT?
Hi all, I have in the last 2 months moved over to NDT, I'm now on 3 grains a day split morning and afternoon. I am also taking feratin, b12, vit C, zinc, magnesium and progesterone. It's a nightmare to time all of this properly and I can wait to be able to drop some of the vitamins once I get my levels
