Plant based ALA [alpha-lipoic acid] can weaken COVID-19 infection and maybe even prevent it.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7427590/#!po=9.45946 ALA can increase human defenses against SARS-CoV-2 by increasing intracellular pH. ALA is a potent antioxidant and reduces oxidative stress and inhibits activation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) and can play a vital role in the treatment

Thyroiditis, insulin resistant PCOS, menopause, High BP
Hi - Not entirely sure where to post this given the list of above diagnoses I have just been saddled with. Saw a private Endo, who was amazing, and has said I have all of the above. He's put me on propranolol (beta blocker) for the Thyroid and high blood pressure (180/150), metformin for the insulin

New here, Help with test results please
Hi, Read lots of posts but this is my first time posting. Brief history, I am 46 years old and was first diagnosed hypothyroid and B12 deficient in 2014 when my periods were reversed (heavy bleeding 28 days a month, not bleeding 4 days). Having a coil fitted stopped this but I know if it was removed

What is the vitamin/thyroid link?
I have always been confused by the low levels and constant supplementation that seems to be necessary for me (and many of you) who have hypothyroidism despite, in my case, a very good diet containing iron, minerals and vitamins- (I understand vitamin D supplementation is often necessary despite diet)

Hair loss Advice required please
Any advice for hair loss. Thyroid tests all ok TSH below 1, T3 and T4 quite high. Vit D, B12 and Ferritin all in the right area - mid to high. Zinc, chromium, magnesium also all good. Anything else worth exploring?

Help with blood results please! (I posted last night about the possibility of taking supplements for Hypothyroidism)
Hi everyone, I posted my results yesterday without ranges but I've managed to obtain them today. I'm currently on 25mcg Levo for hypothyroidism diagnosed in August. I’m 46 yrs old who's always been sporty, but in the last 10 months I've been feeling really dreadful. I take a ggod brand of a multi

Quercetin, minerals and vitamins to prevent Covin -19 (prophylactic)
Dr John Campbell mentioned this in a recent video: https://www.evms.edu/media/evms_public/departments/internal_medicine/Marik-Covid-Protocol-Summary.pdf I am taking Vitamin D and zinc (I might increase the dose). I took a course of quercetin in the first wave, but you get it in green tea and broccoli

Been to hormone specialist...not sure what to think?!
I am new here, but not new to thyroid problems. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2001 after years of symptoms no doctor could explain: high blood pressure difficult to control even with medication, hair loss, high cholesterol, weight gain and fluid retention. Doctors suggested I was eating too much

Medicheck blood test results
I’ve just received these results, I had a private test as my endocrinology nurse informed me that consultant would be reluctant to order tests for vitamin level. I’m awaiting a response from my GP, any input from the members would be very welcome. hs-CRP 3.30 <5.0 Ferritin 300.0

Help Please: Blood test results for my Ma... speaking to a Dr tomorrow, Wednesday...many thanks for your help.
Hello Folks, My Ma takes levo. She was started on it at the beginning of this year, on the minimal dose. She is also now experiencing serious hair loss which is very upsetting to her, though nobody seems to be too bothered at the new surgery. Our surgery closed down in March. All our Dr's have disappeared

Vitamin tests for Hashimotos
Hi all. What vitamin tests do you recommend for Hashimotos? Most of the at home tests I've seen only cover vitamin D, B12 and foliate. Do I need to test zinc, magnesium etc. Thanks

Dear Thyroid experts Can I please ask for some advice in advance of my doctor calling on Monday to review my levothyroxine dosage. As she’s been away for a couple of months and has been very good in trying to help me, I have been following the previous advice you’ve all given me on here and used medichecks

HELP INTERPRETING MY BLOOD TEST RESULTS
Hello everyone, I hope you’re all having a good day. I have Graves’ Disease and mild TED. These tests were done about a month ago and I’ll be doing updated tests next week. I’ve been taking Carbimazole for almost two months now. I was on Propranolol for the first month as well. Any advice would be appreciated
