Does taking vitamin K2 along with vitamin D3 cause Any issues for MPN Patients , I’ve read that D3 Alone without Vitamin K2 can cause artery problems due to calcium build up ?
I currently am on no meds and take 5,000 D3 a day, along with Omega 3’s, Zinc, Tumeric, and baby aspirin and blood numbers are normal. Also avid swimmer.
Thanks

Got me worried now as my Doctor increased my Vit D as it was at rock bottom, no mention however of taking K2 with it. Will check up on this at my next visit.
I am not an expert in any department, as far as I am concerned...
The main supplements I take are Vit. D & B12, (because I am simply deficient in them), most everything else my body needs it gains from my diet...
I now have a completely 'Plant-Based' diet, and I consume loads of fruit, beans, seeds and nuts...
Because I suffer from anaemia, I have also found that taking raw, unsweetened 'Beetroot' juice helps to provide me w/ greater energy reserves. Beetroot is a natural source of inorganic nitrate, however, once cooked and consumed it becomes 'Nitric oxide - N0', and N0 is used in ventilators because it is a 'Vasodilator' which aids opening our arteries and blood vessels to greater levels of oxygen...
Vitamin K aids blood clotting so it should be avoided as a supplement as should eating large quantities of any foods that are high in vit k. Vit k can decrease the effectiveness of blood thinners so should never be taken by an MPN patient without talking to your consultant first.
After 10 years on Warfarin I changed to one of the new anti-coagulants, in my case to Edoxaban. I have this blood thinner for a heart condition and also for MPN/MDS. No Vit K dietary restrictions or having blood tests or keeping the Little Yellow Book safe! Well worth considering it should it be offered to you.
Thanks Chaz that’s what I thought as I read something aligning with your comments. I don’t take it but was advised by a health food advocate to take it with D3 to prevent arteries getting clogged by to much calcium that can be elevated from the impact of D3.
Thank you for your post, I take visionace a multi vitamin for eye health. My heamo is happy with me taking it. I’ve just told my son to get vitamin D as he now works nights and sleeps most of the day. I’ll change it to get D and vit K. MPN patients are a special case. I think if you take anything run it past your heamo first.
I don't know the answer re. vitamin K2, but I am curious to know if the vitamins alone have brought your bloods to within normal range, or were they never out of range?
Clarke7, vitamin D requires magnesium for activation. I hope these links encourages you to further research each. Always consult with your health care professional before using any supplements.
