Hello lovely people ,

Please can someone advise me which supplements to stop taking before I go for my blood test and for how long ?

I am going to have a Blue Horizon Thyroid ‘Silver’ bloodtest which covers

TSH

T4

FreeT4

FreeT3

TPA & TA

Cortisol

Magnesium

I am currently taking:

Prescribed Ferritin

Selenium

Vit C, D & E

Zinc

Magnesium

L Carnitine

N-Acetyl-L - Cysteine, as supplements

Doc and Hospital useless, they don’t know/don’t want to help. Have emailed Blue Horizon too... but I just know someone on here will be helpful, knowledgeable and ultimately marvellous!! 😉

Thank you for your time 🙏

Janie

You don't have to leave off any of those supplements, just take them after the test on the day.

If you were taking Biotin or a B Complex containing Biotin then you'd leave that off for 7days before any blood test.

If you were having an iron test and you took iron tablets then you'd leave those off for 7 days before the test.

Thank you Seaside Suzie!

I had better wait a week, stop taking the Ferritin for seven days...

Have a lovely weekend! 🙏
