Passed on.
Diagnosed in 2011, tried all standard medication( Zytega,
xtandi
, etc) Radium 223. 2016 metastasized: PSA was anywhere from 700 to lowest of 200. Tried Taxotere, then Jevtana, and was on carbo/Jevtana till he passed. We went to Sloan Kettering, Dana Farber, and Mass General. I had him all over!

Anybody found anything that counter fatigue due to cancer meds?
And take 2
Xtandi
pills every day. Have kept active, tho at times the fatigue is almost debilitating. Weight is fine and there has been no pain. Has anybody found anything to counter fatigue. I have heard of bee pollen but have not purchased any yet. I take raw honey daily--it maybe helps.

Any ideas on how to find local oncologist to implement Dr Scholz' treatment plan?
I like Dr Scholz a lot and he has ordered a pretty aggressive regimen of
Xtandi
, Lupron, Taxotere and later radiation. This is based upon the results of a C11 Acetate scan which he ordered at Phoenix Molecular Imaging (Dr Fabio Almeida). That scan located 3 cancerous abdominal lymph nodes.

Castration resistant prostate cancer - Starting Jevtana with Prednisone in a few days
He was placed on
Xtandi
which put his body through hell. His doctor had to stop the medication and gave my Dad a few months to recover. He was then placed on ketoconazole and prednisone. But he reacted badly to it after a few months. He had electrolyte imbalance, seizures, etc.

VA - Xtandi Follow-up
I’m working on that now, to include my
Xtandi
. It’s still in process and I’m having to jump through hoops, but I have hope it’ll all work out. I’m a Cold War Vet (76-79) and never thought I’d be eligible. However, Vet friends of mine encouraged me to apply.

Is AR-V7 Testing Pointless?
Interest in AR-V7 was aroused in 2014 when it was reported that AR-V7 was often associated with Abiraterone (Zytiga) & Enzalutamide (
Xtandi
) resistance, & that used in either sequence, the second drug might fail quickly if AR-V7 was present.

Travel Insurance
As a Stage IV survivor on
Xtandi
we know things can change rapidly. Any recommendations on policies for travel insurance? Any tips? This is the first time we are purchasing it. Appreciate any feedback. Charline.

Normal protocol treatments, like
XTANDI
will not work for me- that is their belief. They said I have 6 months and at this time have no treatment protocol to recommend, but will research. I’m sitting here feeling rather helpless that I don’t have a battle to fight.

Transfusion dependent after Radium 223 and Xtandi - DRs want to stop his weekly transfusions. Help!
He had been getting monthly Radium 223 injections for 3-4 months and taking
Xtandi
. They took him off both after seeing his PSA was still going up, which was after the recent hospitalization for the low hemoglobin and platelets.

17 years of various treatments
He seconded the
Xtandi
as a systemic treatment. He suggested longer term radiation to the lung spots as the failure back up plan. Hubby has been taking
Xtandi
for about a week now with no side effects so far. We go into med oncologist end of month for followup.

Nameless Was a Tough Guy
I also think
Xtandi
causes suicidal thoughts. I have 4 dogs, 2 English Mastiffs, 1 St. Bernard, and 1 Newfoundland, all males. I had to neuter my dogs so I could keep them together. They have done just fine with no loss of muscle mass...my one Mastiff weighs 310 lbs, all muscle.

AR-V7, Zytiga(abiraterone) and Xtandi (enzalutamide)
According so some studies, 40-50 percent of patients receiving any of the above drugs do not respond well or develop resistance in about one year. I am curious to know if any of you who are already taken these drugs know whether you have been genetically screened for the presence or absence of AR-V7

First visit in a long time.
His oncologist at Sloan is putting him on
Xtandi
. He's convinced he's going to die in a few months. Any words of wisdom/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Doc recommends Xtandi but prescription insurance is cost prohibitive.
Last month PSA rose from 6 to 8 and Oncologist recommended
Xtandi
. I am retired on Medicare A and B plus have AETNA prescription service. My cost for a month's supply of Xtangi will be $2,200. Quite a bit for someone on a fixed income. Any thoughts.
