Dad's health has taken a not good turn. Ideas on why he's having major confusion and disorientation?
Stopped working in March PSA 30, started
xtandi
. PSA 70 just three days ago and blood work is all over the place.

Done with chemo again!
I will also be starting
Xtandi
shortly to the fight. So I’ll take my partial win after chemo and head to Lake Kabatogma located in Voyagers National Park with some friends next Friday for the fishing opener.

Need ideas post Xtandi and Zytiga
We had our first telehealth FaceTime call with the local MO yesterday to discuss my husband’s John’s recent bloodwork. He has been on Zytiga with dexamethasone and we knew his PSA was rising. It jumped 5 points in 6 weeks to 15.16 so the doc said to stop Zytiga and dexa and pretty much accept that

More ideas for safety? Husband going for scans early tomorrow at hospital's stand-alone image center.
I'm worried about husband Barry , early tomorrow morning, going for scans at the hospital's stand-alone imaging center 100 miles from home -- body scan (abdomen and pelvis) and also CT scan, as it looks like
Xtandi
isn't working.

[EAU-2020] Enzyme inhibition for overcoming CRPC.
"Inhibition of steroid sulfatase (STS) may be a viable strategy for treating patients with castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and improving their response to enzalutamide (
Xtandi
), according to preclinical research presented by Allen Gao, MD, PhD, during the 2020 European Association of Urology

Dad diagnosed with bone mets, confused, need some info plz..
His PSA rose to 10. they said they can no longer do surgery. so now he is doing lupon shot with
xtandi
. I am sort of confused though, because his psa being 10 was quite low for it being metastasized. My question is, is it possible to have bone metastasis with such a low PSA?

Is Nubeqa (daralutamide) considered ADT?
Had RP 2007, EBRT 2009, was in a clinical trial at NIH using
Xtandi
(enzalutamide) and getting Prostvac with success for almost 4 years. When PSA went to 13 and the NIH
Xtandi
trial ended, my local MO started me on Nubeqa last November.

Here is some Hope for you
It was a tough few years: Lupron for years now, over a month of radiation, tough round of chemo, then more radiation; then Zytiga, then a clinical trial then
Xtandi
, then more radiation, then Taxotere - no doubt it was brutal and wearing on me.

First reading was my best during my current treatment that included Cabazetaxel and

A thousand criquets hissing. Is anybody dealing tinnitus.
I am currently on
xtandi
and lupron and zometa. With a quick rising PSA, I have gone to two regular docs, they ruled out all meds and possible noise damage cause, or wax buildup. Its driving me nuts its very loud from morning until night, any thoughts.

Update on my dad. Need help, hope. Docetaxel over 80?
He has been on zytiga,
xtandi
, still doing zometa and is currently in 3rd treatment of xofigo. He is slowing and weakening a lot. Pain is increasing mainly in hip. If you could see him, though, you'd never guess he's 83! His psa went from 31 in 1/20 to 120 in 2/20.

The Waiting Game/Post 5 weeks of Radiation for Oligomatastic (3 spots) Prostate cancer after 4 years+ of Stage 4. During "Quarantine"
Today was bloodwork and
Xtandi
and Xgeva...first ones after the radiation. Two days from now (Thursday) I have my Zoom visit with the oncologist. The last couple of weeks of radiation brought quite a bit of stomach and intestinal discomfort....nausea, diarrhea, pain and fatigue.

A small rise in PSA What do you think of my plan
I was tested for ARV-7 and I have no positive activity and would like to go on
Xtandi
next or chemo. Am I not aggressive enough? Just a note, I could only tolerate 500 mg of Zytiga for a 2 yr period which make me think
Xtandi
may work better.

Enzalutamide-Resistant PCa & 5-LOX Inhibition.
Seems that Ghosh is still looking at 5-LOX - this time in the context of
Xtandi
resistance: "... even after initial good response, enzalutamide-resistant prostate cancer (ERPC) develops which eventually leads to widespread metastasis.

Alternative therapies I've had success with, (new here)
The rib lesion continued to live on, in spite of my high-lycopene diet and heat, and my psa got up into the 30's after four years, and I had a fourth hormone therapy just recently (Lupron with
Xtandi
).

When do Xtandi side effects show up?
I started
Xtandi
about 10 days ago. So far so good. I am not noticing any significant side effects as of yet... maybe a little more tired in the afternoons, maybe a slightly different pattern to my hot flashes (still on Lupron.)
