Awaiting open heart surgery for mitral valve repair/ replacement
Hi I am awaiting the above op (consultant has said 3 month wait) but have had no face to face appointments due to covid. I have so many questions about this procedure but the main one is about the recovery period? I’m a busy primary school teacher and want to know if I’m being foolish to think I will

Forgot to take my Flecainide - no adverse reaction
I usually take 200mgs/day Flecainide, the only drug I take. Yesterday for the 3rd time in 7 years I forgot to take one of x2 100gms. On the first occasion I was very worried and even cancelled an overseas business trip due to start the same day. The second time also very concerned, yesterday just uneasy

DR FREI. FACE MASK WITH VALVE - RECALL
My wife has just had a fascinating morning with Amazon as we received 6 e mails yesterday asking for these to be returned as it has been found they only have 5% instead of 95% efficacy as found in Iceland - the country not the shop. I just want to let you know that you can contact Amazon customer services

My Favorite Vegetarian Lettuce Wrap Lunch/Brunch 😋❤️🌺
I felt hungry and decided to have my lunch early today. 😁 I made my simplest protein butter lettuce wrap with my mixed vegetables. 😋 Ingredients are: diced water chestnuts, mushrooms, ginger (great kick for taste in this combo), cilantro, carrots, bell peppers, red and green onions. All sautéed in

symptoms following open heart surgery
I'm 33 and had open heart surgery two months ago to repair my mitral valve. My resting heart rate before surgery used to be around 55 bpm but after surgery this jumped to 100 bpm. The doctor said this was normal and was just the heart adjusting and that it would go down over time. Over the next two months

Newbie to forums
I'm new to forums but thought I would give it a go as I'm keen to connect with people who have gone through something similar to myself. I'm 33 and was diagnosed with mitral prolapsed valve a few years back. Earlier this year I came down with endocarditis which the doctors managed to clear up but I ended

Anyone want to join a weightloss thread?
I am @14lbs heavier than before I was told about my mitral valve regurgitation and had open heart surgery. I usually manage my weight with exercise but as I now have heart failure I can’t do that so I am doing a calorie controlled diet. After some trial and error I have discovered that thatit is harder

Interesting study on T3 and vasodilation
This is a complex study of the effect of T3 on vasodilation https://academic.oup.com/endo/article-abstract/162/7/bqab099/6276892?redirectedFrom=fulltext . I do not have access to the full paper and anyway I'm not interested in the precise details! T3 acts in a number of ways. Usually, it binds to thyroid

Arthritis or hyper mobility?
Hi, I’m new to this and to be honest I’m not even sure if I’m in the right place but here goes. A little bit of background, I used to do a lot of judo when I was in my early 20’s and I used to work in a shop, lugging in deliveries etc. Did this for a lot of years and then got a second job in a Post

76 years old, on Metoprolol extended release (ER) 25 mg, Atorvastatin both once daily I was taking Metoprolol ER 100 mg once daily and feeling tired and lacking energy. I also have sleep apnea and epilepsy. My EP says Multaq is expensive but works well. I have also had a maze procedure. I am asymptomatic

Brunch Time 😋☀️❤️🌺
I usually skip breakfast and have brunch instead. I love light meal with plenty of vegetables. I am pescatarian so I don’t consume animal meat. I don’t eat much for dinner, either vegetable soup or a sandwich (peanut butter and jelly with slice bananas or tuna and egg sandwich). Today I had vermicelli

Apixaban
Hi! I’m new here.. I’m 34 years old and was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism in February this year and I’ve been on Apixaban for 3 months. And stopped Apixaban for a month. Doctor told me I’m at risk of having another episode of PE and it will likely in my lungs again. Now, I’m back on Apixaban today

Veggie Burger 🍔 and Greek Yogurt: Dinner 🍦
Tonight, I had a Veggie Burger made from pea protein and has no wheat in it. I had a gluten free hamburger bun with sweet relish and yellow mustard. For dessert, I had a peach Greek yogurt that was lower sugar. The total carbs. for the meal was: 60. What did you have for dinner tonight?😀👍
