Hello everyone, hope you have a wonderful day ahead! π€
Like many of us, I love fruity jam but I donβt like the amount of sugar they put in from supermarkets. I make my own jam for my oatmeal and toast from time to time. What I like about homemade jam is I can use half the amount of sugar, add my organic fruits and lemon juice to my jam.
Today I made strawberry jam. π
I tried the oven heat sealing technique instead of water boiling technique (less messy and burnt π ). You will just need to boil the rubber lid in water and dry with paper towel. It worked out wonderfully.
2 cups of mashed strawberries will fill one 16oz mason jar. I used 1 cup of natural organic sugar and one juicy lemon from my garden. Everything is organic and fresh. I donβt make many because I want to make different type of jams such as: peach, apricot, figs so I will finish this first. ππ
Itβs easy to make your own favorite jam, so put on your best track of music, jam with your songs πΆπΌπ΅ππΊπΎ and make some jam! π
As always, be inspired, be joyful, take a picture and Enjoy it! πβ€οΈ
Oh yes Kainan with this speed, you will get to koko status ππ€£π
Hey Koko, your home made strawberry jam looks and sounds wonderful to me as I love home made conserves and avoid the supermarket ones with HFCS and artificial sweeteners.
I buy Jams that are made to a traditional French recipe using no added sugar, so they are sweetened with vineyard ripened grape and fruit concentrate only.
So thank you for sharing your method as it inspiring and I do agree play your fave music and enjoy making something healthy and enjoyable is a commendable way to spend some leisure time, as itβs positive and rewarding so top marks from me and enjoy your delicious strawberry jam. π π

Hi Jerry, thank you for saying this, I appreciate your encouragement very much and grateful to be in HE, raising my awareness for healthy body and mind. ππ
Thank you for sharing your jam source, absolutely brilliant without added sugar with fruit concentrate only. I look up for some and I will try my new discovery St. Dalfour strawberry jam coming soon. ππ
I absolutely love relaxing in my kitchen and making homemade healthy food just like many members in HE here. You are my inspiration also Jerry! π€π
P.S. I am going gluten-free now as I discovered many things tied to my headaches and eczema. π
Have a wonderful rest of the day! πππΊ

Thank you Koko as I think that we all inspire one anotherβs with our passion for healthy eating. I love foods from others, other countries so I love some of your meals.
This is so interesting about going gluten free to relive headaches and eczema and wondered if youβve been tested for DH :
Gluten affects many people and in many ways especially as we have new dwarf varieties that are very high in gluten!
You take care now Koko and itβs thanks to yours and all our members contributions that make HE what it is and thatβs a factβ¦π

Hi Jerry, I did get tested and confirmed it is not DH but eczema. Thereβre no bumps or blisters with my red, itchy patch and they go away after my cream but come back from time to time.
I had wheat toast with peanut butter and it might be the cause my migraine came back last night. I will eliminate wheat from my diet from now on.
Thank you Jerry for raising my awareness. ππ
Hi Cooper27, thank you for your recommendation. ππ
I canβt believe I never tried it before and now I looked it up, absolutely brilliant, healthy and delicious, I will try to make them soon. ππβ€οΈ
Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day! π€ππΊ
I make it with raspberries. I rarely use it so just make enough that I need, no trouble at all just moments in the microwave and left to cool. The chia look like raspberry pips
Yes this looks great. Much better than store bought and healthier. Good to see you are jamming while you make jamπ. I look forward to seeing all your future jams as well. Have a great day!π€β―οΈπ
