IRON INFUSION
Hello, Am due to have an iron infusion next Thursday. I would be interested to hear from people who have had/are having iron infusions, whether it has made a difference to their level of energy or other. I understand it will take quite a while to notice any improvement if it works, so how long did it

Blood Test Results
Hello All I wonder if anyone could take a look at my latest blood test results for me? My continuing battle to find thyroid hormone replacement that makes me feel alive continues. To briefly recap, I had a total thyroidectomy in 1979. Since then I've had levothyroxine, T3 on it's own, t3/Levo combo

Metabolic syndrome [MetS], C-reactive protein [CRP] ... levels & clinically significant PCa
New study from Spain below. Three of my favorite PCa subjects (they also looked at testorsterone [T] as well as MetS & CRP, but there is no mention of their T findings in the Abstract, so T was presumably not positively associated.) "A total of 524 patients were analysed, being 195 (37.2%) subsequently

New Italian study below [1]. Some might rememer my series of posts on inflammation. The first was "Inflammation. [1] Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio [NLR]" [2]. The gist of the series was simply this: while countless studies now see subclinical inflammation markers as having prognostic value, I see them

Help with test results for GP appt
Hi I’ve recently been diagnosed with an underactive Thyroid. I’ve been feeling ill for a very long time but my symptoms were put down to perimenopause and depression by my GP. I’ve listed the results that resulted in the diagnosis and subsequently prescribed Levo at 25mg. I’ve been taking this for six

Workout supplements and Levothyroxine
I add
whey
protein
shakes and creatine to my normal whole food diet to support my workouts. Both of which I understand are safe and won’t jnteract with Levothyroxine (I’m on 125mcg/day). Would appreciate any guidance, links to articles, advice anyone may have to share. Thanks all!

Tests after Biotin stopped
SlowDragon suggested I put up a post of my own, so here goes. I have been bugging my PCP for nearly two years about my lingering symptoms of hypothyroidism, despite being on 175 mcg / day of Synthroid. Specifically, going bald, fragile nails, cold intolerance, dry gritty eyes, difficulty losing weight

An important warning: when a flare might not be a flare.
After 18 months on Prednisolone, reduced from initial 60mg daily ( the almost lethal dose in my case), I was down to 2 mg daily and my inflammatory factors (ESR and C-reactive protein) were very low. Then suddenly in September this year, a routine blood test shocked my medics ( and me)- both ESR and

Clots - D-dimer & CRP.
New study below. Some might recall that I have written quite a bit about altered coagulation in PCa & its potential role in metastasis. When I was diagnosed with a double DVT in my left calf, my doctor said that I would be on Warfarin for 6 months - 3 months for a first offender plus 3 months because

After some advice and more info . .
I've not posted here for some time and I've NOT been diagnosed by my GP with thyroid issues (yet)! However, I've just had my annual blood test in connection with my type 2 diabetes which is diet controlled i.e. no meds or insulin. The surgery phoned me a few days after the blood test asking me to phone
