Recovery from pneumonia
70 YO F with bronchiectasis - I developed double pneumonia 3 months ago and completed 2 weeks of IV antibiotic treatment in hospital and at home 2 months ago. Is it normal for recovery from pneumonia to wax and wane, to be "nonlinear"? I was getting better 2 weeks ago, the fatigue was starting to lift

Hepatitis B and alcohol
I was wondering what are your views on alcohol use for people with hepatitis B. I am feeling a bit disappointed that my Dr never has discussed this with me. I try not to drink at most of the times. However, I would have a few drinks on special occasions, such as birthdays or holidays. Should I go tea

shingles jab anyone?
I had a very bad bout of shingles three years ago. Yesterday my doctors surgery rang to say I qualified for a jab! I tried to ask if it was worthwhile for someone who had already had shingles and was told she was the receptionist! Fair enough but then you can’t speak to a medic anymore Any thoughts

Methotrexate and sinus/nasal issues
I've been on MTX for a year now and over the months I keep saying I feel like I'm coming down with a cold but it doesn't happen. I get a blockage in the back of my nasal passage and that causes post nasal drip and a sore throat. I was taking sulphasalazine but have stopped that as I felt so tired on

Does asthma severity tend to reflect that of sinuses?
I wasn’t sure where to post this but please tell me if it’s out of place as I’l move it. Basically I’ve had chronic sinusitis with polyps for over a decade. It is more chronic inflammation that’s the issue, with meds the polyps are only small/secondary to the inflammation. I don’t have asthma but

Glandular Fever virus and PMR?
Hello everyone, Does anyone know if the Glandular Fever virus could be linked with PMR? I contracted GF and Hepatitis B of the Liver in 2005, it took me 3 years to get over it and live my life normally, I took no drugs, it really was a case of rest and gentle exercise, the Drs warned me if I didn't

COPD and Pneumonia
Hello. My mom has severe COPD and got out of the hospital last week after a 3 week stay for pneumonia. She’s had COPD for 16 years and just went on O2 about a year ago. She’s always done well with the COPD and never had an exacerbation until the pneumonia. I know it can take a very long time for the

pneumonia vaccination
I have been told to get my pneumonia jab , i’m not worried about sore arm, but i’m just a bit concerned i might feel poorly after. I didn’t feel poorly after my flu jab or covid booster. Any reassurance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Bad cold sore should I wait to inject Methotrexate?
I was at the dentist last Thursday - not my usual one - and she was a bit rough! She split my lip in the corner and it's came out with large cold sores which are not healing! 😔 I'm considering not injecting today to give them a better chance to heal - what do you think? They're sore and I can't eat

AFib after 2nd Shingles jab
I only occasionally get Afib now following an ablation in 2020, but I had my 2nd shingles jab 3 days ago and it seems to have kicked off my afib again albeit not constantly. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same effect from the 2nd jab (as it is supposedly worse than the 1st) or is it just

Illness and taking T3 - something to consider?
just a thought I wanted to put out there and see what everyone else thinks… I am now prescribed T4 and T3 and it has been a bit of a life changer for me. Previous to the T3 being added, I was on mono T4 for years. To get out of bed and function, I had to have my T4 over range, whilst my T3 was scrapping

Pain Concern
Hello Again. Has anyone had an epidural steroid injection for shingles pain? I am scheduled for one and I'm scared. I have had trigger point injections in the past, but those go into muscle where this would go to the nerves that shingles infect. This doctor is very good at what she does so I have no
