AFib after 2nd Shingles jab

I only occasionally get Afib now following an ablation in 2020, but I had my 2nd shingles jab 3 days ago and it seems to have kicked off my afib again albeit not constantly. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same effect from the 2nd jab (as it is supposedly worse than the 1st) or is it just a coincidence?

Funnily enough we had a similar question last week.

So far I’ve avoided Shingles jab . Had ablation in Aug 2020 , which was successful, only a few blips since, 1st 6 weeks after op, when I’d overdone things , then gave myself more time to heal……An out of the blue event last year that kicked off at 1.30 am , again, I’d got overtired , but standby Flecaneide put me back into normal rythmn , another blip in hot weather last year . Touching wood,….. think I’ll steer clear of shingles vax for now . My system seems to really struggle now after Covid vax though . Rock and a hard place

You really really really do not want to get shingles if you can avoid it by a simple jab.

Totally understand that … After a few other health issues & investigations , I’d been waiting , hoping to feel better before doing it 🙏🙏

So why get jabs?

I wondered that also , I’ve recently had the two Shingrix jabs and it may be co-incidence but since then have become aware of irregular beats only diag so far as ectopics but have had a few episodes of 150 bpm etc , not yet captured on a ecg, I asked my cardiologist last week if it could have been the Shingrix, he said possibly but if it was the effect should wear off in a few weeks post jab. I would say the duty is still out on that one.

Why did you get shingles vaccine?

because i had shingles and due to being on certain immune supressing meds I am more prone to it.

I agree that you do NOT want to get shingles. Had 20 years ago approximately and it's like hundreds of tiny needles in the places where they reside (mine was left side of abdomen) any movement especially with clothes is like a firestorm. Try soaking in Blue Boro solution in a bathtub which helps relieve the pain and such.

However, I wouldn't take those shingix jabs. I am not a fan of ANY inoculations since around 1980, especially the more recent ones which SEEM to have a propensity to cause issues or one gets what they purport to prevent depending on the state of your immune system.

I haven't had ANY jabs since 1982 and somehow I'm vibrantly alive, but with AFIB of course.

How do you deal with afib?

I have had one single Shingles Jab why have you had 2?

I have to say I would rather have AF than Shingles. I have a friend who lives in Spain and has not had the jab and he has been in tremendous pain in his back since before last Christmas and is still no better, can't sleep, sit or stand with any degree of comfort. He has tried pain patches, epidurals - which do work for a short while but he is still really ill with it.

You probably had Zostavax vaccine which only requires 1 jab and is a live vaccine. Shingrex vaccine however is non live and requires 2 doses.

Didn't know that there were two different vaccines. Hope you sort things out.
