eGFR is falling
I had my 90 visit with my PCP and the bloodwork dropped from 32 to 31. I have been on Farixga and we had hoped to see an increase not a decrease. I am working on weight loss (down 8 pounds) for a future hip replacement where the doctor wants me at or below 250 pounds. My PCP seems to think this

Oxidative Stress (ROS), Sleep and the Gut Microbiome: Staying Alive
I am just back from a challenging (humbling) multiday backpack in the High Sierras of California. Very beautiful but drought conditions, dry stream water sources made it more difficult. Here is a pre-note on my own regimen: After completing my two phase radiation treatments for oligometastatic PC:

hi would anybody tell me if they have heart condition and diabetes type 2 just about to start a second diabetes tablet and worried
I’m worried about the meds clashing I’ve already had big reaction to ranolazine . Had water infections over a year which is related to the diabetes but the new pill dapagliflozin can cause severe water infections so nervous to add this to metformin on top of my long list of heart medication can anyone

My Doctor has recommended I move to these rather than Metformin as my HbA1c levels haven’t lowered (58) for 18 months despite exercise and sensible diet. I’ve read up on these but would appreciate any experiences on this forum. Thank you.

Semaglutide as an Answer for ADT Fat Gain & Obesity
The gift of ADT (androgen deprivation) for advanced prostate cancer is a longer life. The harms caused by that same ADT are myriad and have been well discussed here. Included in those range of effects from very low testosterone is a powerful tendency to put on body fat. And to lose muscle mass and strength

Rekovelle, Metformin and Levothyroxine
Hey! I am due to start round two, very soon, and the plan is for me to stim with Rekovelle for this attempt. I have been having Metformin (1500mg a day) and Levothyroxine to bring my TSH to less than 2.5 (I also have positive thyroid antibodies). Has anyone ever had the thyroxine/Metformin combo

CoQ10 Good or Bad? Necessary? Reaching a Conclusion, Coenzyme Q10, Statins, Prostate Cancer
I've reached the point of exhaustion on research. I feel I have a good a reasonable good grasp on everything, except CoQ10. And interestingly out of all the drugs and supplements discussed in this forum it is one discussed relatively much less than virtually all the other supplements and drugs. It's

Advice please : reduce levo when starting T3 or leave it alone?
On 125 mcg of levo with a FT4 of 21.4 ( 12-22) 94% through range and a FT3 of 4.5 (3.1-6.8) 37.84% through range, giving a ratio of 4.75 when beginning T3, would you reduce the levo or leave it at 125mcg ? ( TSH always appears suppressed due to Metformin, so isn't relevant, but it's 0.01 (.27-

La Roche’s Prasinezumab (“Passadena”) Trial (BN42358)
Diagnosed with PD two years ago at the age of 48, I guess I’m one of the lucky few to be selected for Roche’s Prasinezumab trial, due to begin this fall. Since my diagnosis, I don’t feel that my symptoms have gotten worse and I’m still able to keep the diagnosis to my inner circle (symptoms: slower

Why I can't increase the dose?
I have noticed over time that my values are below half the range, whether I take, ndt or synthetic. My endo thinks I could increase the dose but I don't feel well if I push the dose over the 125mcg levo(and some T3) or 3grains ndt Thyroid-s. My ft4 and ft3 are less than half. Vits and minerals are ok

Why has B1 as TTDF been Black-Listed by the Research Community?
*** I ended up with High Blood Pressure taking TTFD. I no longer take TTFD. Based on my experience, I would not recommend TTFD. *** Why is there so little reliable data? The only reliable data, I can find is: A sport enhancing study; “Conclusion; TTFD could significantly improve physical activities”

DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE TAKING METFORMIN AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE
I AM A 66-year old female who was in top condition 18 months ago. It was a year before I received the PMR diagnosis and it's been 12 weeks since I've been on prednisone. I've tried to have a good attitude about the pred and to throw all my energy into my health and minimizing its side effects. I've

GP surgery have me in tears again,
Long running saga which sorry for expletives in advance is really getting on my TITS now. You know that feeling when you begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel and some bastard pinches the bulb or forgets to put money in the meter. So I haven' felt 100% for years but you know how women
