Dear Roberto1220

This is a question that your own health care professional is best placed to answer, as only they have access to your medical records.

We suggest talking this through with your own doctor or health care professional in the first instance.

Best wishes

I was told that the benefits outweigh the problems and therefore told I would stay on it. Even now my diabetes is in the normal range they won't take me off it until I've had two more blood tests that show I am in remission

Thank you for your reply. I'm having another test before Xmas and if I'm still in normal range they are going to cut my Metformin in half so that's my goal.

We got to have a goal Rob.

I remember my Dad, he had so many things wrong with him and was on so many drugs, then he was on loads more to correct the side effects he was getting from the first lot. Bless him.

I'm struggling with the lack of salt. I do use lo salt but not too much and I do have reduced salt and sugar ketchup. I fdont drink. I'm cutting down as much as I can. I have lost 3 stones but I am struggling to lose more. Since my sugar level is within normal range, knowing that has tempted me to have some fruit pastilles or jelly babies. I just wonder how much damage they will do. Knowing my diabetes is good hasn't really done me a favour because I'm pretty weak willed. I need to really pull myself back in again but it's not easy is it?

I need to get back on it too. I lost 2 stone just calorie counting, but I had an operation 6 weeks ago and my Hubby has been feeding me and I haven't got on the scales yet but I'm scared it's not going to be good.

I have fallen off more diets than I've hot dinners, lol, but this one was going well. And you're right, knowing I'm back in the normal range for diabetes - and my latest blood test on my liver says it's functioning again - doesn't help my resolve.

There are times when I crave something sweet so I do have a few sweets. I've been good since about Xmas last year but I'm struggling now. I'm not hungry at all. It's the sweet thing that is really bothering me. Love hearts, sherbert fountains how silly is that? I'm 66 years old but my predilection is for sweets a 6vyear old would eat!

Oh I'm 60 and I love a sherbet fountain. Haven't had one for a while though. Love a double decker but they are too many calories and I did think I could cut it up but that's never going to work is it, lol. I do have a shortbread biscuit with my morning coffee. Haven't had cakes since my liver diagnosis but I love a cake too.

We are awful aren't we
