Lung crackling
Hi, I started noticing crackling when breathing a few months ago. I've been to the doctors, she gave me antibiotics which did nothing. She sent me for an xray which came back satisfactory and now I'm on an inhaler, which is also doing nothing. When she listened to my chest she couldn't hear anything

Fostair - lactose-free?
I just had a telephone consult with my respiratory consultant. As the steroid in my Seretide inhaler is thought likely to be the cause of my recently diagnosed adrenal insufficiency, he proposes to switch me from Seretide to Fostair as the steroid in that is less potent. I am seeing conflicting information

I'm thinking of taking the incruse right after breo in the morning and rinse and gargle all together? Or will incruse be less effective if i gargle after

Dosages
I have just been moved to 640 of alvesco and 800 of fostair 100 a day by my consultant. What are the rules on dosages when combining different inhalers, can you just have the maximum dosage of each inhaler.

bronchodilator reversibility test
Hi - I’ve posted before about having weird asthma! My consultant wants me now to do a bronchodilator reversibility test “to prove” my diagnosis before putting me forward for tezepelumab. My spirometry is always normal - I think the lowest it’s been is 85% but always on high dose inhalers and nebs.

Pink vs Blue inhaler
So at my last asthma check couple weeks ago i was advised that new research showed the blue inhaler to cause lung damage in the long term and that i should use my pink fostair as a reliever. I had been told that before so as I was needing to use the blue inhaler as i had that chest infection going round

Seretide and Addisons disease
I was diagnosed with Addisons in May 2023 and have been using inhaled steroids / seretide for chronic Asthma for 20+ years. My endocrine consultant told me to stop taking my seretide which I declined to do, as Asthma extremely well controlled, unless he refers me to Asthma team at hospital to manage

Pretty stressed
Hi lovely people. I have HF and a CRT-d. Been ok for a while but had to have a chest X-ray recently for another issue. It’s come back showing a trace of copd/bronchitis damage? The doc said if I start having symptoms they’ll give me an inhaler. One doctor said don’t worry about it but another asked

Newly diagnosed with asthma
Hello, I was recently diagnosed with asthma around start of October 2023. I was wondering how long it took other members to control their asthma? Mine is not controlled. On salamol reliever (100mg) which helps a bit. Was taking steroid inhaler Beclometasome (200mg) but this did nothing. I am now

advice please
Hi happy New Year to you all. I was diagnosed with severe COPD 6 years ago age 61 , I never really had any symptoms at that time or for 4 years after that. However 2 years ago I moved from a London suburb to the east of England and my symptoms have materialised very quickly. It can be quite frightening

hi I’m not sure if anyone or even an asthma nurse on here can help me. I have had asthma since childhood and it was not until the age of 19 I was put on monteluask tablets that I was controlled. Back in 2017 I had what I thought was a chest infection and for the next 2 yrs has breathing / no air constant

Yendo’s history with lung problems.
Diagnosed with asthma in 1972 and started on Ventolin. In 1987 I was rushed to hospital after suffering a severe asthma attack caused after taking two aspirin pills. Previously, I had been taking aspirin for years with no adverse reactions, but I was told that allergies can begin at any time of life.

Progression
I was first diagnosed 13 years ago but had no symptons and stayed that way for 6 - 7 years before my breathlessness slowly increased. I was already on meds for hypertension and hypothyroidism but also had a shoulder inflammation, poly myalgia rheumatica, [PMR] which started me on steroids, I managed
