I take use the symbicort 100 inhaler as a preventer 2 doses morning and evening and it's working really well.....I also use it as a reliever if I have a flare up and again it works for me.....I'm in a similar place to you in that I cycle on a regular basis and am relatively fit....that's the damnable thing about this condition I guess and the challenge for the health care guys that tailoring the medication to each individual is a massive challenge....sorry I can't be more help on this and hope you find the right meds for you
