Luforbec inhaler

Is anyone else not able to get their Luforbec inhaler . The pharmacy I use online hasn't sent it for a few months now..I have tried emailing them and requesting it through Healthera, but still not gotten it.. managed to get one from the hospital last time I was in, but its run out...so not sure what else to do? I told my asthma nurse and she said that apparently it's hard to get at the moment...anyone else had this problem?

Hi Alliecat. I think the best plan would be to change pharmacies. It can’t be good if you are not sure if your inhaler is going to arrive. I’m in a small village and there are two pharmacies near me that deliver free of charge, maybe there is one near you.

I've checked the Community Pharmacy website and Luforbec isn't on their shortage list, so I suspect that it's an issue with your online pharmacy. I would contact another pharmacy and check if they have stock & supply then sign up with them.

The issue can be caused by the pharmacy not willing to pay the suppliers the rate for the medication, or the price has increased and it's become uneconomical for the pharmacy to provide the medication at a loss. They won't admit that to you, but use the shortage story.

This is a wider problem because of the way pharmacies are funded, the NHS saying how much they'll pay the pharmacy for a medication but that medication price to buy has been increased, so there's a monetary shortfall for the pharmacy.

A guess here but i have just found out that i am now getting that drug in replacement if fostair. Its the exact same but they are changing everyone apparently so may lead to shortage for a bit for the transition
