Hi everyone. After worsening of my COPD and Asthma. Community respiritory nurse changed my inhalers from Braltus and Duoresp to Fostair and Spiriva respirmat. This was 2 months ago. Question is for the past 4 or 5 weeks I have been getting quite bad muscle abd joint pain. Has anyone else had this on any if these inhalers or is it just coincidence. Thanks

There's a post in the 'Related Posts ' section on this page about changing to the same inhalers, it may be of interest. P

Hi sueysue, I'm on Fostairs inhaler and do get lower back pain and also in my right hand but I have had lower back pain since my 20's (and am now 71!). The pain in my right hand has come on recently but think that's more likely to be arthritis because of my age and continually washing hands to try to avoid any germs!. So could be just co-incidence for you. If the inhalers are working well let's hope it is nothing to do with them. 🤞🤞Take care xxxx

Hello Nula2, best thing is to get in touch with your GP. Because is best way to find out if your Fostair is at fault for that. But if back pain are not new to you even more to get this done at your GP. I used Fostair as well, but didn't got back pain. I got blurred vision and kramps in my feet and hands. So I stopped taking Fostair quit a while ago.

Hope you feeling better soon again. Take care 🙂 🌸🌸🌸🌸

Hi Melnel 🙋‍♀️,thank you for your reply 🙂I don't think my hand pain is to do with my inhaler. Think it's more likely just age and always washing my hands🙄! But was telling Sueysue that her pains might be coincidental. I was thinking I should tell GP next time I speak to him. Have to go for my routine blood tests next week so will ask nurse then 😊. You take care too ❤️xxx

I get blurred vision on oral steroids but need them at times. Not so much on inhaled steroids. Been on inhalers for 24 years. These are working for me so will ask my nurse next time I see her as would really like to stay on them tbh

Steroids are doing not so much help anymore my feet getting blown up very bad with water. Don't like that at all.

What ever aches and pains I get I prefer to weigh up the benefits against risk. Like statins, I'd rather not take them but stroke is far far worse to contemplate. My aches are no different on Fostair than on any other inhaler and Seretide made my skin so thin it ripped all the time - much improved since put on Fostair MART, it's brilliant for me.

Were all different though.

Been on a few inhalers as I have had this for 24 years. Had lots of side effects. This is a new syptom for me. These inhalers are working better for me but just wondered if it was a side effect x

I take both fostair and spiriva but I have spinal arthritis and osteoporosis so wouldn’t be able to say if it’s made it worse. Sorry I can’t be of help but I take whatever helps me.

Take care

I've been using Spiriva for a few years with no added aches/pains. I did have cramps prior to taking it in my legs and feet but was low on magnesium, so I take a tablet a day and no more crampy legs. Hope you find your answer! The best to you, Carol
