Trying to figure this out.

I was placed on a medication ( diltiazem) for atrial fibrillation) . It turns out it inhibits steroid clearance from the body. I am also on Breo ( fluticasone (steroid ) for asthma. I was off Breo for awhile and restarted( we thought it may have triggered AF) but it didn’t. Since I am in the Breo I feel wonderful at 7mgm taper. Hmm. I bring this up with doctors but they really think about me needing these meds. I thought of contacting my pulmonary and asking for the same inhaler with less steroid. My other thought is I might be able to taper the prednisone more easily since I’m getting steroid inhaled.

I am still losing weight though; maybe that will change.

Except presumably you feel so good because the COMBINED steroid dose is enough to make you feel better.

Yep! The literature says diltiazem reduces the excretion of prednisone- in simple words. I noticed my cheeks I hadn’t felt that good in years and my cheeks were getting cheeky. I have a message to my pulmonologist; he’s very responsive..
