medication or not
I have osteoporosis. Since I have a sensitive stomach my doctor recommended Prolia. I read about side effects of Prolia and I don't want to take it. What are the alternatives? I would prefer to not go on medication and continue with exercise, diet, calcium / vit D3 - but my bone density continues to

Is there any point in this?
my wife is at a stage whereby she sort of burps as she swallow's.sounds a little like sort of reflux. Just to put you in the picture, she now has great difficulty speaking. It was suggested we see a consultant, this ended up as a phone call to arrange a barium X-ray. He wanted her to have an endoscope

Good site for vegan nutrition info and some supplements I take
https://veganhealth.org/daily-needs/ For a good B12 source would recommend the 3 natural form supplement here : https://www.sunday.de/en/vitamin-b12/. 500mcg per day is a good safe dosage. You cannot overdose on B12 and although 500mcg seems like a lot, only an estimated 6-7mcg are absorbed of this

Teeth issues
I’ve been on Yrso since 2019 and doing well on it. I also had 39 pelvic radiation treatments in 2016 for cancer. I know that radiation basically destroys your teeth. I’m wondering if urso leeches calcium from the body (I’ve also been diagnosed with osteoenia. Just curious. I’ve been losing a lot of

bit of a scare
I’m a 50 year old female with CAD, only diagnosed 18 months ago (no symptoms but my older sister discovered she has severe carotid artery calcification and was advised to tell siblings to get tested) I’m on ramipril and 40mg atorvastatin as my cholesterol was high. last night I had an awful dream and

Ectopics & SVT
Hi Everyone Its been a little while. My history is Ablation June 2021 which was successful. However, I now get ectopics and SVT's. I has a 24 hr hospital monitor which confirmed this via my EP. They are not severe but hugely disruptive and the worry of "will they won't they" is as bad as them

Pth blood test
I'm a 94 year old widow lady. My primary Doctor told me I have 46 per cent kidney function. My Pth lab test showed 76, the normal number is 54. She said my parathyroid was the cause. Something about taking my calcium out of my bones. I don't understand. I have made an appointment with a Urologist

hypothyroid following partial thyroidectomy. Question about HRT and optimum T4 levels.
Dear forum, I am 58. 3 months ago while having parathyroid adenoma removed, I also had partial thyroidectomy. This was because thyroid nodule was discovered during scans looking for the adenoma. The nodule was examined and contained micropapliiary carcinoma. No further treatment needed for that thankfully

Swallowing difficulties with pouch at back of mouth
Hello , wanted to ask if any of you have been told after a barium swallow investigation that you have a pouch at the back of your mouth? I’m waiting to see the gastroenterologist next month. I have had swallowing difficulties for over a year now - particularly tablets and capsules but also fresh fruit

Removing calcium.
Any thoughts out there on taking vit K and vit D to reduce calcium in the arteries? The idea is to take the D at breakfast, and the K at dinner time and ,over 3 months, the artery calcium should have actually reduced by some 30 to 50 %. If true, then it should be widely promulgated. Looking forward

calcium supplements
Hello lovely people ! Just looking for some advice on taking calcium. I’ve been through FAQ but can’t seem to find anything. I’m intending going for a DEXA scan soon to the same place I went 20 years ago to compare . Currently tapering with no ill effects 🤞Purely with all the good advice from this site

calcium channel blockers
I am having a bit of trouble getting my dose before the weekend apparently the GP has to agree for me to have them monthly although my prescription says long term so I thought they were on a repeat anyway if I am unfortunate and they are not signed off today can I go a day or two without them safely

Interactions between food and Levothyroxine.
Could anyone suggest a decent source to help me choose the correct foods depending on the time of day? I recently read that calcium shouldn’t be consumed until 4 hours after taking Levothyroxine. It looks like fibre shouldn’t be eaten too soon afterwards as well. That makes breakfasts more difficult.
