Covid vaccine decision time…
According to this article (link below) older unvaccinated people have been hit particularly hard by Covid and are greatly at risk. I read elsewhere that the last date for getting the jab is 31st January for all ages. I haven’t been vaccinated since the end of 2021 but I’m thinking it’s time to have the

Covid and prednisone
Hi, Covid finally got me 10 days ago for the first time and today I'm still testing positive and I'm still isolating from everyone else in the house. Prior to getting Covid, I've been on DL's 5 week taper with me being at the 5 week mark of 12 mg's that began two weeks ago Sunday. By Thursday of that

High-Dose Vitamin B1 / Thiamine and Fat Soluble Benfotiamine Form
I am reposting a reply to the Vitamin B1 thread as I noticed a search on HealthUnlocked for Benfotiamine doesn't list the thread for Vitamin B1 and the information I posted doesn't fit in one reply. I'm not giving medical advice but I know a lot of people here are open to trying things and watch if

adalimumab and supplements
hi, I’m starting with the above drug. Can I still take bodybuilding, protein, supplements, such as whey protein, and creatine? Also, before I start, should I get vaccinated for shingles and pneumococcal? Cheers Tony

Shingrix may be available on Australia's National Immunisation Program for those with CLL from 1 November 2023
See our pinned post about vaccinations for general guidance about Shingles

Rituximab timing of Covid2 vaccination
This might interest those on Rtx who are due a Covid
vaccination
……medwireNews: Findings from two studies suggest that among rituximab-treated patients, those with a longer time since their last infusion may be more likely to have an antibody response to vaccines against SARS-CoV-2.

Covid and flu vaccines
I unexpectedly had Covid and flu vaccinations today whilst at the doctor's for something else. Was putting it off but glad it's done now. Today is the day I usually inject my MTX and one nurse said give it a miss this week whilst another said to do it as normal. I decided to give it a miss. Is there

Covid recovery
Hi, I tested positive on 15th December and was positive for 14 days. It attacked my lungs this time and was bad. From day 1 I was prescribed steroids and a 2 week course of Docyciclyne to take alongside my nebuliser. I’m now on my third course of steroids and my peak flow is still only about 310. Heart

Immunocompromised behavior
i am 82 and heading in May into my last infusion for microscopic polyangiitis. I am fully vaccinated for flu, covid, and RSV. I am reluctant to let people into the house for any extended time if I don’t know their vaccine status, as I am immunocompromised. Am I being paranoid about this…??How do others

I reside in the UK and was diagnosed with Afib in early October and had a mild heart attack, in hospital for five days and given flecainide (50mg twice daily), apixaban (5mg twice daily), statins (40mg once daily) Losartan 5mg (once daily). I have always been intolerant to a lot of medication and vaccinations

Trudging along, but inspired by another postcard 😊
Still plodding along, but at least I'm still moving 😁 74% complete and I have a great incentive this month as I'm raising money for Wales Air Ambulance by walking 10 miles during January. Still stuffy, breathless, coughing like a drain, and fatigued, but it will go in time as it always does eventually

On Venetoclax, lymph node appeared
Trying not to worry but a lymph node in my armpit swelled up. I feel fine, no colds, fevers or recent vaccinations. Even did a Covid test because I have had Covid totally asymptomatic but negative. Has anyone have this happen and it turned out to be nothing. Hoping this is just a fluke but it seems

Vaccinations
I have Churg Strauss (EGPA) treated with methotrexate and steroids, and have been invited for Phnumonia and Shingles vaccinations. Are they safe/sensible to have?

dengue fever vaccinate or not?
I started off on 15mg Pred in October and am now down to 10mg. I am off to India (Rajasthan) in February and dengue fever vaccine has been suggested. As it is a live vaccine I am not sure whether having the vaccine is worth the risk of contracting dengue. Any advice? Also big thanks to the community

Covid
Just recovering from a very nasty covid bout - my first. I'm a pretty healthy, active 76 year old with no medical issues other than PV. I don't need to take any prescription medicines other than HU, and otherwise take only aspirin and vitamins. Nevertheless, I was seriously sick for 2 weeks with all
