Feeling rubbish after Covid booster!

Biker52 profile image

Had the booster yesterday….Moderna Spikevax…and the nurse said it was likely that I would feel rubbish today.

She was correct, unfortunately!

I started feeling tired and cold last night, aching all night and aching in joints and muscles now.

At least I don’t have the awful headache that I have had after the other vaccinations!

The joys of RA,…hopefully will feel better tomorrow! 🤞🤞

Thought I would share my misery as other folks I know who have been boostered have had no side effects and take a pride in telling me this!

I hope that I am in the minority!😉

These things affect some of us in different ways. Hope the after-effects will be gone tomorrow but at least it's done now.

SNAP! I had mine (Moderna Spikevax) on Tuesday. Felt cold and yukky yesterday with a very sore arm. Woke up this morning feeling much better. Arm still a wee bit painful at injection site. Hope you feel better tomorrow.🤞

Had mine , felt a little cold , itchy lump on injection site , but as they aren't live vaccines should get any thing more unless you've already picked something up prior to vaccine

I also had after effects with Spikevax - the first time in all the vaccinations that I've felt ill. It felt like a cold coming for about 24 hours.

Don't like the Moderna. Only one that I had a reaction too. My spring jab is next month so hope it's not that one

Same with me. I only had the Moderna once and it was the only one I had a reaction to. Pfizer ones were fine.

Having mine next Tues so 🤞it's not Moderna .Having said that......I'd rather have it than not.

Wow how judgemental of you! Its everyone's choice to have the booster in an attempt to protect ourselves from possible chronic illness, or even death, if we contract Covid, or not as the case maybe. I wouldn't judge you for not taking up the offer, so why do you judge those who do have the booster? Keep you're nasty comments to yourself!

So is it really you're job to tell people the truth, or what you think is the truth!!?? I'm afraid I disagree with you but would never tell you what to think. It's everyone's personal choice, so dont preach you're beliefs.

I had the same vaccine, as did three of my friends, all of us exactly the same symptoms , they don’t have PMR

The nurse said it was a new vaccine, and we might feel fluey

Please stop this unnecessary arguing. It is everyone's personal choice as to whether or not they are vaccinated. As the national patient organisation, I can tell you that there is a ton of evidence to show that whilst vaccination does not prevent you from getting COVID, it reduces the chances significantly of your having severe COVID that might hospitalise you or cause your death. The majority of people think that feeling rubbish for 24 hours is a price worth paying for that protection. So please stop criticising people for taking personal decisions about their own health which they are fully entitled to do.

Same here - had mine on Tuesday and woke at 1 am with the rigors, very tired and achy on Wednesday. Gradually feeling better but taking it slow until tomorrow when I'm working. First time I've had a reaction since the initial one - I take it as a sign that the most recent variant is nasty and am happy to feel protected 😁

I react badly to both Pfizer and Moderna but Pfizer is by far the worst but only after the 3rd booster when I was left with Myocarditis which was quite frightening and took some time to recover from. The first 2 were fine. I don’t have RA I’m her for another condition, I’m over 80 so not in the catergory considered most at risk of this reaction either though I do have asthma and a heart condition. I was very concerned for the following booster which my GP said I would be better off having but so far there hasn’t been a repetition of that though every time I consider not having another as I don’t go out much anyway. Other symptoms still keep me in bed for a couple of days and feeling rough for more. I’d rather not have any more but having had Covid and been told that the only reason I managed it ok might have been because of the boosters I’ll probably take the risk yet again though with some trepidation! My daughter has not been well after her booster on Monday. It’s the first time she has had a bad reaction. I hope you get over it quickly this time. Good luck.

Covid vaccines have never been intended that you don't get the virus but they will reduce the chances of severe illness due to the virus. Please may I ask you all to respect people's personal choices regarding their own health and decisions.

Thank you. 🩷 This is the reason I’ve stayed away for a year, in addition to not being able up update options on my phone to allow me on NRAS.

I'm also feeling rubbish! Am overdue my rituximab so was already achey but am wiped out. My partner assures me that I was last time I had Moderna (in September) but I dont remember. Hopefully as he claims I'll be fine tomorrow,

I had the same booster as you on 24th. I had it early morning and by the late afternoon had a sore arm, extreme fatigue ever since flu like symptoms. All my previous vaccinations against covid have be Pfizer and I had the minimum of side effects with these. I dont think I will accept the moderna spikevax again. Feeling rough.

I had those symptoms the day after the jag. There wasnt a choice and for many reasons - my own wellbeing, pressure on hospitals if I get the virus and need to be admitted- I will have it when / if offered again. A little discomfort in exchange for reassurance.

Just giving an update. Feeling a bit better today. I am grateful for a covid vaccine, pfyser or moderna, despite a flu like reaction a few days ago to the moderna. I think my body and spirit is low, recovering from hospitalisation due to a severe infection and cholecystitis. However , I had less reaction to pfyser in the past. Looking forward to having my gall bladder out , hopefully soon, and being positive again. Glad for the vaccine as I appreciate it protects me. I hope I get a date for surgery soon. Wishing all the best to you all.

Just googled spikevax. It says ---Postmarketing data has revealed there is an increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis, particularly within the first week following vaccination. The highest observed risk for Spikevax is in males aged 18 years through 24 years of age.

Immunocompromised persons, including individuals receiving immunosuppressive therapy, may

have less of a response to Spikevax. Interesting.
