Urso.PBC
My blood works improved after 3 weeks, i have been on URSO for 3 months now and all blood works are within normal range now, hopefully it stays that way 😜
Liver Biopsy showed stage 3 PBC at diagnosis 3 months ago however Fibroscan last week gave score of 5.1 my HEP said fibrascan is showing im stage 1 PBC right now, URSO is not a cure for PBC but it does help
Do you take Urso at a certain time each day and have you changed your diet in any way?
in my case i had to change what i was eating because i ate too much processed food and fatty foods, so the HEP advised that i change my diet to a healthier one, even though i am under weight as i only weight 50kgs I wasn’t eating the right foods (skinny person can be unhealthy too)
there is alot of diet tips in this group which people share , this is a wonderfull group to join .
Hi Lonely
I've just read your thread note about the things you eat previously.
I'm currently being monitored for PBC based on routine blood tests taken May 2018 ! Since seeing my consultant who recommended a healthly diet I've gone from a size 16 to a 12 and exercise 2 hours daily !
I'm due to see my consultant in September and GP this Monday to see if my recent bloods have improved which I think they may have! I too have cut out all fatty foods and then pain under my ribs and in my back has gone!
I recommend to anyone reading this note that a healthy wat plan is definately the first step plus giving up alcohol too!'
Good luck Lonely
Love Trish x
Hi
I’ve just had my bloods done been on urso for 9 months all my levels have come down to within the normal range 🙂 fingers crossed they will stay that way .
Mine came down to almost normal after three months of urso.
I think maybe everyone’s journey will differ, some will have normal levels, quite quickly others may never go back to normal.
What is important is you take the urso continuously and have your doctors determine if your responding to the medication, it’s said it can take up-to 1 year.
Mine never went to normal, I only just scraped in as a responder of urso the doctors will determine that, normally after you’ve been on it a year.
Hello Belgium22,
I was diagnosed in 2016 and was told in January this year that my blood results were stable and all within normal ranges as I am an Urso responder. I am now on annual appointments which is great for me. I hope that you get an improvement soon and that you will soon be able to say that you are an urso responder too.
I only responded to Urso with the addition of prednisone. I have PBC Autoimmune Hep overlap Syndrome. Diagnosed at level or stage 3. It has taken 18 months to get liver function levels in normal range. Long journey of meds. My body couldn’t handle the Prednisone long term so doctor added Imuran to the Urso. After 3 months I had a reaction to Imuran and I was taken off it. I stayed on Urso and added Budesonide and Myfortic. My numbers were still not level so doctor added Tacrolimus. Finally levels are normal. 😊 Sooooo if labs stay level for a few months we are going to try to go off one of the meds. I am treated at Rush Hospital in Chicago. I continue to work full time and care (hubby helps a lot) for my adult daughter who has Autism/nonverbal. I try hard to keep my spirits up and not get upset by belly bloat and side effects of meds. I’ve had 2 biopsy’s, numerous ultrasounds and labs weekly or every 2 weeks. Doctor said I was a harder case. Most people respond by 6 months. Key is take your medicine. All the best!
