Sudden Drastic Change in AST and ALT
As of the beginning of 2018 I had the ALP, AST and ALT somewhat stabilized and under control with
Urso
. The ALP (normal 33-130) was running in the 300’s, but that was a far cry from the 750 it started out at when diagnosed 2 yrs ago.

Why would you not take
Urso
unless you are not a responder? What were the side effects that made you switch meds?

Why do some consultants seem so patronising
I was sent to see a gastro consultant he said did I have any questions but then proceeded to talk to my husband When I last saw him he admitted that he did not know much about Pbc and this is the man that issued the prescription for
urso
!!!

PBC and Life Expectancy
This leaves us the section of the population who do not respond to
Urso
. (this could be because they don't respond, because they don't tolerate, or because they haven't been given access to
Urso
in the first place). What happens to them?

Positive AMA went down to normal
Hello everyone, So my doctor diagnosed me with pbc but never put me on
urso
because my bilirubin was not elevated. She decided to get my labs checked monthly. My AMA was still positive for the first two months, but now it is normal. Whats does this mean? Do I not have pbc?

PBC, tired but hopeful
The
Urso
helped tremendously and my doctor was even shocked at how quickly it brought down my LFTs. The itching is nearly gone, the brain fog is much better, the liver pain is totally gone, the achiness comes and goes but the bouts of tiredness can be overwhelming.

Texas PBC conference and support groups
My biopsy did come back positive for PBC. and I have started
URSO
, three capsules of 300 mg each, three times a day with meals. So far so good... Spending time with hundreds of men and women with this condition made me feel that I am not alone and I will survive.

Gym or Support Buddies needed - London Essex
Hi All, So this year has been hard been told that the
urso
doesn't work for me and then they put me on steroids and they have done no good either so they have taken me off them. Finally, been told that I don't qualify for the new trial meds... So I am literally at a loss!

I need a reminder...
I'm anxious about both because my insurance refused to pay for my
URSO
FORTE (the real drug) which I was on for 2 months and my Alk-phos dropped about 10 points. Maybe this has nothing to do with it, I don't know. But I'm back on Generic Ursodiol now going on 6 weeks.

Fasting and PBC
I take
URSO
3 times a day, so now I’m taking it early morning, then at dinner time, then before bed, but I go without it for 16 hours. Would that be fine? I have looked this up but didn’t find definitive answers.

PBC, hair loss and itching
So I have started taking
urso
(500mg twice daily). But my itching has got significantly worse since starting it - is this normal?? I thought the medication would help ease the itching! And also since starting it I am noticing lots of hair loss. No bald patches or anything (yet!)
