Pbc and joint pain

My last gastroenterology my liver function was normal due to urso I possibly have sjogren's, but not diagnosed as I won't have lip biopsy

Any way, yesterday I wake up with pain in the hip joint, walking is OK but stairs cause alot of pain

I ve been told pcb causes joint pain but not really explained why, but this pain is new, and I haven't done anything new to have possibly caused it, I still have it today.

I just wondered if this is a 'normal' thing with pbc, or if anyone else has gone through it

Many thanks ann

I know pbc makes us more suspectible to osteoporosis. Not sure if osteoporosis or osteopenia causes bone/joint pain though. But I suspect it is related. Also do you know your D levels? Low D can cause bone pain as well.

If this is a new symptom I would get it checked out with your doctor, we can still have other issues not related to pbc and leaving it thinking it’s pbc could make things worse for you.

There is bone/joint pain that some suffer with I did myself but it eased once I was given vitamin D as I was seriously deficient.

However if you woke up with it suddenly it sounds like you may have twisted in the night and pulled something.
