Hi

Current blood work today showed 147 am a m2 & borderline high Cholesterol . My last reading had gone down to 90. On watch no ur so all other labs normal . I did have major Constipation during blood draw . I also felt low on iron at the time and had a uti.

I'm disappointed as I had improved my diet with more fish and salads. However, I followed a diet app in which I was eating 44g total fat unbeknownst to me , it should have been 30g fat daily

Could low b12 or iron cause elevated ama or consuming gluten or high fat prior to blood work ? I have fibromyalgia & myofascial pain syndrome 2002 and heavy fatigue that goes in severe stages when stressed since 2008. Arthritis . Could claritin or p relief tablets elevate ama? I see gastro/hepatologist for 3rd opinion next month. On watch for now, allergic to urso

Hi Sdone

Have you had blood test for B12 and/or anaemia. As you suggest if you are low in either of these it may be why you are feeling poorly. Hopefully the hepatologist can answer your questions. We seem to be light on experience on this site for your question. Perhaps your dispensing oharmacist could answer the question on tablets impacting on blood tests. I do know from a personal experience that red meat can change blood results. My diet is now rich in fresh salad and vegetables keeping fat to a minimum.

Best wishes

Thank you. Yes in fact i had eaten grass fed beef that week due to feeling low iron symptoms.
