I was diagnosed with PBC in September and started Urso thereafter. My bloods have all come back to normal range so I guess I’m an Urso responder which is great. However I can’t say I feel great… I have periodic fluey symptoms( aches and tiredness), get a lot of headaches and have developed a slight tremor, which comes and goes. I am very pale too.My question is do the symptoms stay even if bloods go back to normal? I have no idea what my livers like as have to wait 49 weeks from now till I get a fibroscan but ordinary scan showed slightly fatty liver. I gave up alcohol in August and have been trying to eat a diet based on Zoe nutrition by Tim Spector. Anyone else got improved bloods but not feeling much better?

It is certainly good news about your lab work. I agree that it seems you are an Urso responder. Your symptoms of frequent headaches and the tremor really need to be evaluated by your primary. I know everyone experiences PBC differently but any reactions like these shouldn't automatically be attributed to PBC. Please let your primary know. When you have your lab work done do you have a CBC done? That would tell you if your hemoglobin is low which might explain your paleness. I hope you pursue all of these so you can begin to hopefully feel better. Also, have you had your vitamin levels checked recently? ask your doctor about that.... Let us know how you are.
As DonnaBoll has suggested a consultation with the doctor and a blood test may be in order. Not everything can be put down to PBC. I have three other autoimmune conditions which were diagnosed after the PBC diagnosis. Zoe by Professor Tim Spector is very good, I listen to their podcasts which are very interesting. Hope you get to the root of the problem.
best wishes
I am very interested to learn of Zoe. I just googled him. How long have you been following/using his advice? Notice anything?
I think I found Professor Spector just after the pandemic and started listening in to the podcasts shortly after. I find what is expressed informative I wish I could remember it all
I’ve been following the podcasts every week since it began it’s all on you tube to catch up on and it’s really helpful. Without having subscribed I’m following their general advice and it has helped me feel better that I’m doing what I can to help myself, following the most up to date research. I use Tim Spectres cook book and others and though I still eat meat it’s low fat and as healthy as I can get and I’m eating the 30 different plants a week as much as possible. I notice that I have an upset stomach if I don’t follow this type of food so it’s good for me to follow.
hi Lilyoll10
I was diagnosed with PBC, back in 2016. The Urso never brought me to within normal range but close to it. also, it is not uncommon to have other diseases. For example, I was diagnosed with first, then thyroid disease, then rheumatoid arthritis. So you should get checked for other things, as well. I know when my thyroid was way I was feeling tired all the time.
wishing you the best,
hope this helps, Lorraine Louise
