Tuesday's Tip

This is a reminder really to always make sure you are taking the correct dose of Urso.

The dosage is 13-15mgs/kg of your body weight. It is ALWAYS and ONLY based on your weight - never your lab results or your symptoms. Please everyone make sure you are on the right dose.

Insufficient dosing can lead to less results and can get in the way of using a second-line treatment if it's needed.

I know many have a hard time adjusting to the full dose. Start slow... maybe 1 pill/capsule a day. Work up to the full dose as you can tolerate. It is better to take a lower dose at first than not to take any at all.

I know some take it all at once, some at night..... find what works for you. If you need further suggestions, ask here.

Please make sure you are on the right dose!!! I heard at a PBC conference last year that half of the patients who take Urso are on the wrong dosage. If you aren't, make sure you let your doctor know - ask why you aren't? This is crucial!

It doesn't make a difference - really a waste of Urso if it's a pill/capsule (s)too much.
